Advantages: Divine smell and actually does what it claims to ...

Disadvantages: Makes me feel very hungry after applying (best done before breakfast!)

I came across this wonderful product only recently, desperate to find something for my very dry skin. All other moisturisers that I tried promised the earth (as well as costing it!) and when I saw it was on "BOGOF" offer in my local store I thought it had to be worth a try.

All Palmers Cocoa Butter products are wonderful, 'tho we found recently in our massage class that although Palmer's Moisturising Oil isn't up to it in terms of therapist's oils, it smells so scrummy we all wanted to give it a whirl!

This moisturising cream's high Vitamin E content is excellent for toning the skin and for helping to plump up the dermis layers (this is a fantastic cream which should be used by all age groups) and although it works wonderfully well on stretch marks, I believe Palmer's also sell a stretch mark cream specifically for that (which is a more dense version of the moisturising cream in the jar as shown above). The fact it uses real cocoa butter with just a few preservatives is an added bonus.

I am so in love with my Palmer's Cocoa Butter ... the wonderful smell of vanilla pods and dark chocolate combined is a heady experience, especially as the cream starts to sink into your skin and your body warmth releases the smell particles. It reminds me of Green & Black's Vanilla bar. Even better, the smell stays with you all day if you apply it after a shower in the morning, on still-damp skin. I'm sure that most people won't find the yummy smell offputting - unless they aren't keen on vanilla or chocolate.

I suffer from very dry, sensitive skin and also eczema patches - this cream is simply wonderful for all-over use (right up to the chin) even for my poor tired feet, although you need to ensure you pat your feet with a small towel after application, otherwise you may find yourself slipping until its completely soaked in to your skin. I even have a pot at work to use as hand cream. It's rare to find a product which I can use without any adverse side effects so this truly is my 'holy grail'.

It really is priceless and knocks the spots of other, far more pricey moisturisers which just sink without a trace - quite literally! It acts as very effective barrier cream too.

My only tiny gripe is that if you use the bottles, although it is a good way to apply exactly the amount you want, you tend to waste a fair amount as its design isn't easy to extract the last drops in the tear-shaped bottle, no matter how long you leave it balancing upside-down. (Believe me, I've tried). In my view, you are better off buying this cream in the large tub (as shown in the photo) as you can get the very last smudge out.

Do keep a lookout for special offers in stores such as Boots and give it a whirl. I personally don't think you can find a better value moisturising cream anywhere else.

Price: the tub as shown here (100ml) usually retails at £2.99, as does the teardrop-shaped bottle (200ml). However, on 13.04.2006 I saw Superdrug had special offers for the 100ml tub, 200ml teardrop-shaped bottle (as well as the no-smell version of the body lotion) with a £1 off ... quick, grab them while you can!

Summary: Excellent moisturising qualities at an excellent price, with a divine smell of chocolate & vanilla

... I only had chance to check out my local Boots today (08.04.2006) & both the small tub and tear-drop shaped bottle (200ml) was retailing at £3.19 - no special offers there at the mo, more's the pity! C x
