Advantages: Smells nice, does the job!

Disadvantages: A bit greasy.

I've always suffered with hard skin on the palm of my left hand (I haven't a clue why!), so when the skin on my hands started to feel like it was burning a bit I decided to do something about it. I went to Superdrug and it was a toss up between Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula or Superdrug Hand Cream... There was around 50p between them (with the Superdrug one being the cheapest), but having heard good things about Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula I decided to give it a go. I picked up an 100g tube for £1.93.

The tube says that Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E "Softens & relieves rough, dry skin" and is for hands, elbows, knees and feet. It's done such a good job on my hands, that I think I'll give it a go on the bottom of my feet!

Opening the lid of the tube and squeezing a pea-sized amount onto my hand, I rubbed it all over my hands. Despite rubbing it in well, I found that my hands still felt greasy and after a few minutes I had to go & wipe my hands on a towel. But still, that was a small price to pay for the job it's done on my hands. The hard patches of skin on the palm of my left hand have softened and are almost unnoticeable after using this "formula".

The "formula" has a yellowy colour to it, I guess you would say it is a buttery colour (which isn't surprising given the product's name!). I have read others describe this as having a chocolatey smell to it. I wouldn't say it was a real chocolately smell, but it does have a slight chocolatey scent to it due to the cocoa content. It's a nice smell, but not one that has me craving chocolate!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula is also recommended for use on stretch marks (both during & after pregnancy), but as I'm not pregnant (not have I ever been!) I can't comment on this.

The tube also says to use daily for a soft, youthful appearance... Maybe I should be using this on my face!

Another bonus of this "formula" is that it isn't tests on animals, so you can use it without guilt. As with most products of this type, once opened you can use the product for up to 12 months.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula has worked wonders on my hands, sorting out the hard patches and leaving my hands nice & soft. I will definitely be continuing to use this and would certainly recommend it to others.

Think my stretch marks may be beyond help but might give it a go on the basis of this as if it's as good as it is on hard skin it may well work!
