Advantages: Nice soap, great funky bottle

Disadvantages: None

Back in 1898 a gentleman called B.J. Johnson from the United States developed a formula for a new soap made out of palm and olive oil. The product, Palmolive was so popular that he named his company after it. At the turn of the century Palmolive was the world's best selling soap. In 1928 they bought the Colgate Company to become Colgate-Palmolive.
Today the soap is just as popular as it has ever been.

They produce my favourite line of liquid soaps and have quite a few different varieties to choose from such as the hypoallergenic range and the florals range but for this review I am going to concentrate on the Aquarium Hand Soap.

Probably the best thing about he Aquarium soap is the cool funky bottle it comes in. Like the name suggests the bottle features a colourful sea life picture. The bottle is a clear plastic and at the back has a dark blue colour which portrays the sea. There are then lots of different pictures of vegetations in lots of fab bright colours, greens and reds etc. At the bottom of the sea you will find a star fish and a crab and then my favourite bit is the bright orange fish at the front. They say that children will particularly love this bottle of soap but I think adults will love it too. It does definitely brighten up a bathroom and make it fun. I guess it is good for kids too, to encourage them to use soap as the bottle has a cool, child friendly design!

The soap itself is a clear colour and quite a thick liquid which is nice. You don't need much of it to work up a lather. The top has a pump action so it's quite easy to just get a little bit out. The hand wash is dermatologically tested and is suitable for sensitive skin which is nice. I think the fact that it is clear gives the opinion that is it clean and free from preservatives. I use this soap all the time and it has never irritated my skin or made it dry so I think the fact that they say its for sensitive skin is definitely true. It says on the bottle that it is gentle enough for the whole family so again another product that is good for children which is good.

The smell is absolutely delicious. It's quite difficult to describe as it does not really have a flavour such as strawberry or lemon etc, it is more of a fresh clean smell. It definitely does not smell chemically at all which is nice. The smell stays on your hands after you have used it and keeps them nice and fresh.

The bottle is 300ml and with daily use I would say lasts about 1-2 months. A bottle at the moment costs £1.68 in Sainsburys but I find often they do a two for one offer which is very handy because you can stock up and always have one in the cupboard for back up.

All in all a great product that I definitely recommend.

I think the kiddies would like this, because of the fishies!!
/was expecting a dirty low-down on Palmolive though, lol!! or at least a mention of any potentially iffy ingredients.. :)/

Is it me or is it odd to name a handwash after an aquarium?
