Advantages: smells nice, thick creamy lather, cheap
Disadvantages: smell doesn't linger on skin
I love my Lush shower gels and soaps but they are an expensive little habit, so as I'm running low on them, I have been alternating with cheaper products. Palmolive is not a brand I usually buy as there's nothing about it that really appeals to me, but as I spotted their shower gels on special offer I bought a couple, including their milk and honey shower milk.
The shower milk comes in a rather unremarkable looking bottle. It's a sort of flat oval shape with a yellow, domed flip-top lid. To be honest, I think it looks cheap, however the packaging is functional and I suppose this is the main thing.
The bottle tells me that this contains a moisturising milk and will nourish the skin leaving it soft and smooth. It doesn't specify what skin type it is for, however as I have dry, sensitive skin, I thought it would probably be suitable, since it mentions that its moisturising, as well as honey being well known for soothing the skin.
Palmolive call this a shower milk, so I had expected it to be runny and white, however it's actually a pale yellow in colour and is quite thick and creamy. I'd describe it as more of a shower cream than a milk.
The scent of the shower cream is pleasant - it's very sweet (as you'd expect from something containing honey) but also has quite a creamy smell to it. It's quite a gentle scent, however I do find that if I use too much of this, the fragrance can begin to become a little sickly. Used sparingly however, it's fine, and as it has such a gentle and neutral scent it won't interfere with any perfumed body lotions or perfumes you choose to wear over the top.
The product lathers up well on it's own, but I'd recommend using a shower puff because that way I've found you can get a fantastic lather from just the smallest amount. The lather is thick and creamy too and feels quite soft and luxurious on the skin - something I really wasn't expecting from a budget product.
After using this, my skin feels soft and supple, and although I don't think it actually left my skin feeling moisturised, it certainly doesn't dry it out either. As the scent is so gentle this doesn't really linger on the skin but that's not too much of a problem for me.
A 300ml bottle of this costs £1.85 from Boots.
Overall, I'm very impressed with this. Not only is it cheap, but it lathers well with only a small amount, so it is good value too. If you're looking for a creamy shower product with a gentle scent, this one is well worth trying.
Summary: Fabulous, give it a go!
