Advantages: Lovely smell, makes your skin soft, very cheap
Disadvantages: The bottle isn't too secure on long journeys
This is my absolute favourite shower cream even though it's one of the cheapest around. It gets 5/5 from me for smell, skin-softening, how well the smell stays on your skin, and price, and the only aspect I can attempt to criticize a little is the bottle.
********** The Bottle **********
It's a very simple, cheap-looking bottle which is fine for me as I'd prefer to pay less and not have such a fancy bottle. The problem I have with the bottle is that if I take it away anyway, when I get to the other end and take it out my bag or suitcase, it has normally spilled out over everything else in my washbag as the top isn't totally secure. I think for going away a screw-top is always the safest option.
********** The Smell **********
The smell is of Almonds and Milk, which may not sound very nice but it's a very soft, subtle smell and not overpowering. It's quite sweet and has a comforting smell about it. Out of all the shower gels I've tried, the smell probably stays on my skin more than any of the others. When I come out the shower I can always still smell it on my skin which is more than I can say for most shower gels, including the more expensive brands I've tried.
********** Ingredients **********
One thing I will say is that when I looked on the back at the ingredients, there are a number of very long words which I don't recognise. I don't know how natural this is but I am also not too sure how much this matters when it comes to a shower-gel - is it just more with food that we should worry about non-natural ingredients?? I recently bought a body wash from Boots called Mango Body Wash with organic mango extract - it was about £4 and I wasn't impressed at all since the smell didn't stay on my skin and it didn't make my skin any softer than much cheaper brands.
********** Effect on your skin **********
It is gentle on the skin but makes my skin feel really soft and silky. The 'moisturising milk' does what it says and seems to nourish the skin making it nice and soft.
********** Price **********
The price of this product seems to vary quite a lot, averaging at around £1.50 for a 300ml bottle which will last probably a good couple of months or so. The good thing about Palmolive is that there are very often good offers on, including Buy One Get One Free and you can often mix and match with their other shower gels, which are also really nice, so you may be able to try out a couple of different types. With the BOGOF offers you can end up paying just around £1 per bottle.
Overall I love this - and it's so cheap just give it a go!
Summary: A deliciously soft shower gel, give it a go
