The Company
============

Part of the Colgate group of companies, Palmolive makes a good range of toiletries including bath crèmes, hard soaps, deodorants and liquid hand-washes.

Palmolive Naturals Liquid Handwash with Almond Milk
========================================
Real almond milk is moisturising and has a high content of Vitamin E which in itself is a natural anti-oxidant thought to rejuvenate or at least slow down the signs of ageing. Rehydrating the skin will go a long way towards plumping up the skin and making it feel and look younger. However, there is no mention of Vitamin E on the ingredients list on the packaging so perhaps the ‘almond milk’ in this product is synthetic?

As I’ve had ‘old’ hand since I was about 14 (my grandmother was a great believer in character-building chores and floor scrubbing was one of them), I was rather hoping continued use of this product would give me the hands of a sixteen-year-old maiden.

The ‘milk’ itself is of a medium thick consistency. A milky-yoghurt consistency springs to mind. I can’t vouch for it’s taste but its early in the day yet and it’s a while before dinner. It is described as ‘soapless’ and therefore you will not be surprised to hear that it doesn’t lather up like a traditional hand cleanser.

The smell is fresh and clean but strangely smelling slightly of coconut rather than almonds as you would think.

My verdict
========
This is one of the few hand cleansers I’ve used that doesn’t leave my fingers stripped to the bone with weeping sores. I had never experienced any skin problems in my life until last year when I worked briefly for our local supermarket and used the liquid soap in dispensers in the washroom. Within days my fingers were red, cracked and sore.

I now find I also have to avoid the liquid soap of another well-known brand so I must investigate the ingredients thoroughly to see what was causing that distressing skin problem. But Palmolive’s Natural range has caused me no problems and so pleasant it is to use, so soft are my hands after I’ve used it, that I am in danger of developing that compulsive hand-washing disorder.

Cost
======
Approximately £1.20 from our local Co-op although they are quite often on a BOGOFF deal.

Packaging
===========

An attractively shaped bottle with rounded edges and a dispenser for the soap. The dispenser is ideal for keeping by the sink and can be plunged with the elbow (the dispenser, not the sink) to avoid getting the bottle mucky. My husband hasn’t worked this out for himself yet so our bottle by the kitchen sink usually looks like it’s been used by a football team to clean their boots.

I would certainly recommend this product without reservation, especially if you too have experienced the skin stripping affect of other liquid hand soaps.

Summary: Probably more expensive that 'own brands' but worth every extra penny

My wife and children like its smell. A good product indeed.
