Advantages: actually works to rid nasty smells

Disadvantages: can make my hands feel a bit rough

As part of my recent offer on hand wash in Asda, I also picked up the odour neutralising hand wash which I thought would be good to combat the smell of onion on my hands. This is something that happens a lot, especially when I am trying to be organised and cook a family meal from scratch. Usually the ingredients contain onion and or garlic, therefore me hands always smell for hours afterwards.
I also liked the fact that this hand wash claimed to have an anti bacterial agent. Perfect for my kitchen windowsill then, and not a hand wash for the bathroom.

The hand wash comes in a clear bottle and there is a picture of limes on the front. Citrus is well known for neutralising the strong whiffs that stick to your skin, so a nice pale green for the colour of limes make this product look vaguely more like a washing up liquid than a hand wash. Thankfully due to the obvious packaging with the pump action lid, there is no mistaking this for anything other than a hand wash.

Straight away I found you didn't need a lot of this to generate a lovely lather on your hands. I thought the lather itself was very soft compared to some other hand washes I have tried recently, and for some reason I have tried a lot of different ones.
Washing your hands in this, I find that unfortunately I still have to rinse very well to rid my hands of all the suds, but once clear of lather; my hands don't feel any stickiness from residue left over. Unfortunately though they also don't feel very soft after using this hand wash on a regular basis, and it does feel as though your hands have been in dish water for a while. I was a bit disappointed at the results of how my skin felt, but the aroma side of the product was a different story altogether.

Claiming to rid my skin of all those nasty whiffs after cooking, I was praying this would work. After using garlic especially I am left with a distinct weird odour all day, which makes me a bit conscious especially when at work. I am pleased to report that after using this, my hands smell a lot better. The hand wash itself doesn't have a strong scent, which I thought weird considering it contained lime, and being a citrus it usually gave off quite a strong scent.
My hands smell normal for want of a better phrase after using this hand wash. On a normal basis, I would like a fragrance to remember, but after using garlic, normal is fine by me. The product definitely passes on this test, so I think I can put up with the dish pan hands and just carry on using moisturiser.

Due to the fact that this product has anti bacterial agents, makes this a must in my kitchen. Everywhere has germs whether we like it or not, and this product doesn't claim to rid them all but every little helps as they say, especially after dealing with food and having children in the house.

My 300ml bottle costs £1.64, but I always buy these when they are on offer so will cost less. I find in the kitchen this hand wash will last around a month with daily use. I think this is great value for money at the stand alone price, but why not get something cheaper if you can.

Summary: a good hand wash to have in the kitchen.
