Advantages: Smells gorgeous, leaves skin feeling soft
Disadvantages: At full price it's out of my budget range :o(
It's not often I write about bath and shower products, largely because I don't use many. No, that's a lie, when a green noxious cloud surrounds my flat then I have one. No, what I mean is I'm a budget girl who sticks to cheapy and own brands and so I don't often try anything new or unusual. So, there I was doing my usual online bulk shop from Tesco and I remembered I needed some more shower gel and rather than just opt for the same again I did my usual "research" first and checked out the special offers. I found that Palmolive Shower Gels were on a Buy One Get One Free offer so I decided to go for that as it worked out at good value and would make a nice change. On offer it worked out at just under £2 for two 250ml bottles of shower gel which suited me. I chose two different ones and today I'll be writing about their Naturals with Milk and Honey variety, the other one I'll cover some time soon! My shopping arrived the next afternoon and I duly pulled out two unfamiliar bottles of shower gel. I have to say that the bottle is attractive and unusual for a shower gel, unlike most it doesn't have that hook-on-lid contraption which can sometimes prove awkward - just a curved flip-top which clips shut firmly to avoid leakage. The thick white plastic bottle is a sort of oval shape with the lid incorporated in a pale orange colour. It certainly looks much nicer than the ones I normally go for - but obviously looks aren't everything! What's the stuff inside like?! Well, the moment of truth came and I took my first shower using this. I gave it a tentative sniff first - WOW!! "By 'eck chuck, you smell gorgeous!" There's no mistaking the fragrance, a definite sweet honey tangy with gentle milky undertones, it smelt good enough to lace your coffee with! For some the fragrance may be too strong and sweet but obviously I'm talking about the smell within the bottle which is quite conc
entrated - once mixed with water, lathered and rinsed it is no where near as overpowering but still leaves a delicate lingering fragrance behind and the bathroom smelt lovely. The gel/crème was a nice consistency in a gentle honey colour too. This variety is intended for extra dry skin - mine is - and is very creamy and soft, lathers well and did not irritate my skin. Obviously any moisturising effects are limited because ultimately shower gel is rinsed away but it certainly did not dry my skin out like some of them do. The information on the bottle claims that this contains natural extracts of milk and honey but looking at the list of ingredients it is hard to tell as it is the usual long ream of scientific names and numbers, none of which I could personally identify as either milk or honey! Well, for me this was a pleasant success and good choice/buy but at its normal price of £1.99 a bottle it may not always be within my budget range but I would have no doubts about getting it again if it was on special offer or I was having a rare surplus of cash!
