Advantages: Refreshing taste and shiny teeth

Disadvantages: Can be a bit pricey if you choose the newer Pearl drop products , does not whitening teeth much

About 3 months ago won this product. It came with a bundle of make up and a handbag. I used to use this when I was younger as my teeth stain like hell. Then you just had the bog standard Pearl Drops Original Spearmint but now there's bags of choice.

==What are Pearl Drops Whitening Toothpolish products?==

They are a product that you use in conjunction with your toothpaste to take a away plague and dull stain caused by coffee, red wine, smoking, food etc. It will give your teeth a whitening effect so you won't be afraid to smile anymore.

==Variety==

Pearl Drop has a big range of products now compared to before.
Pearl Drops Original Toothpolish Freshmint
Pearl Drops Original Toothpolish Spearmint
Pearl Drops Daily Whitening Toothpolish Icemint
Pearl Drops Electric Whitening Toothpolish with Perlite
Pearl Drops Daily Whitening Toothpolish Sensitive
Pearl Drops Hollywood Smile Toothpolish
Pearl Drop Party Sparkle Whitening Toothpolish

They also have a stain removing gel, mouthwash and advanced whitening toothpaste for smokers.

==Differences between the range of products==

Original Toothpolish Freshmint or Spearmint contain fluoride and just whiten your teeth while Daily Whitening Toothpolish Icemint gives you fresh breath and whitens your teeth. Daily Whitening Toothpolish Sensitive is for sensitive teeth so you get the whitening effect without pain. Electric Whitening Toothpolish with Perlite is for people that use an electric toothbrush to clean their teeth. Party Sparkle Whitening Toothpolish is for a whitening effect for a night out and the Hollywood Smile Toothpolish promises that it will make your teeth two shades lighter in 3 weeks. The other products will only do one shade lighter and it might be a while for the effects to be noticeable.

==Price==

The price ranges from £1.99 to about £4.49. Original Toothpolish Freshmint, Spearmint and Daily Whitening Toothpolish Icemint cost around £1.99 for 50ml tube. Electric Whitening Toothpolish with Perlite, Drops Daily Whitening Toothpolish Sensitive, Hollywood Smile Toothpolish and Party Sparkle Whitening Toothpolish are around £4.49 for 50ml tube.
You can find them in your local Boots, Superdrug and high street chemists.

From now on, I'm reviewing Pearl Drop Party Sparkle Whitening Toothpolish.

==The packaging==

It comes in a silver box with a girl smiling happily and showing off her lovely-whitened teeth.
On the front of the box, it repeats the words Sparkle and Party in different fonts and colours.
The slogan at the bottom is The Finishing Touch for A Brighter Whiter Smile
On the back, there's the usual text telling you about the product and how great it is. These texts are in Dutch, French, German and the English on the side.
On the other side, there's the directions on how to use the product.
Directions: Apply to your toothbrush, brush your teeth thoroughly and rinse. Not suitable for children under the age of 7.
Then it's in the other languages and then it says Made In England.
Church & Dwight UK Ltd. Folkestone, Kent, England.
On the bottom of the box it says Contains Sodium Monofluorophosphate (1000ppm F) and then the whole list of the ingredients.
Sodium monofluorophosphate is used in toothpaste and whitening products to protect tooth enamel from attack by bacteria (cavities).

The Tube itself has the same words and font & colour effects as the box does on the front and has the same slogan at the bottom. It's shaped like an upside down triangle and the top, which is clear and with rings going from small to big to form at base for it to stand properly is at the bottom so it makes sure that the products will comes out easily and without too much squeezing. The tube is see-through and has an aqua colour when it is full. When you unscrew the top, you find if you give it a light squeeze, the aqua liquid flows out in small amounts.

==The product==

As I said the Party Sparkle has an aqua colour to it. Only a small amount is need. About a pea size should do and we're off. . It tastes very refreshing. I would say it has a similar taste to the Pearl Drops Daily Whitening Toothpolish Icemint. It's not overpowering like some mint flavoured products are. The texture of it is a bit weird, smooth but not quite.

==3-week Rule==
You should notice a different in your teeth 3 weeks after you have started using the product. There's a money back guarantee if it doesn't work but this seems to only apply to the Daily Whitening Toothpolish Icemint and Sensitive Pearl Drops, not to the new ranges that are now on our shelves.
All you had to do was send off your barcode from the box of Pearl drop and hey presto a couple of weeks later, £4.00 back. As I haven't sent off the barcode this time as it was a freebie, I don't know if they still do the money back guarantee. (Let me know if you know and I'll add to my review)

==Does it work? ==
At first, all you notice that your teeth are smooth, they have a shine to them and your breath is fresh for at least 3 hours after clean, which is brilliant for a night out on the town. The 3-week rule that they tell you about, is a joke. It takes a lot long than that to show any noticeable signs that your teeth are whiter than before. After three months of using the product, you tend to forget to clean your teeth with normal toothpaste and then with this plus it gets annoying as well as every time you do your routine, it takes twice as long. Not good when you're rushing to get to work or school. So to be honest, your teeth are nice and shiny but they remain nearly the same as before. Only slightly better than before and for the hassle of doing it every day as well as your normal routine for cleaning your teeth, it's not worth it.

==Overall Comment==

As it was free, I'm not complaining too much but if I had of bought this I would not really be satisfied with this product. Even after 2 months of using the product every day without fail and nearly no signs on improvement in my teeth, I'd give this a miss. If you want a shiny teeth and fresh breath and aren't bothered with the whitening effects then this is the product for you albeit it's a bit expensive if you have to use it with your normal toothpaste.

Why oh why are you telling us all about the packaging and what it looks like and what it says? And even with that it wasn't clear at all that one needs to use the product in addition to normal toothpaste as you claim later.

I've used other Pearl drops products, and they do seem to help stop any staining from tea and coffee etc developing in the first place (I drink gallons of coffee lol). Drastic overnight improvements aren't possible with them though. I hadn't tried this particular Pearl drops product, and will now definitely give it a miss and stick to the cheaper ones ;-)

Great op. I've heard whitening toothpastes weaken enamel but I still use this now and again.
