Advantages: Very kind to skin of all ages

Pears soap has been around for many years, yet it seems very contemporary, with its subtle fresh perfume which is unlike that of any other soap, its dark jewel-like colour and its stylish oval shape. It seems posh enough for the smartest bathroom, but I always associate it with the old advert, featuring a very dirty tramp, with the caption "50 years ago I used Pears Soap, and since then I have used no other".

One of its key advantages is that it is very kind to skin of all ages. It seems very mild, and I have not known it to cause skin irritation, even to eczema sufferers.This observation is based only on the effect of its use by a few family members,but it seems kind to children's skin. and it is very mild and cleansing when I use it on my mature skin.

Nowadays most people seem to use shower gel, and the soap section of most supermarkets is small.I also love a nice, creamy shower gel, but am disappointed to note that recently Pears soap has disappeared from the shelves of my local Tesco and Sainsburys. However it is still to be found in Boots.

Pears soap is a really good, sensibly packaged product. One tablet lasts for ages.I hope we don't stop buying it and lose a product so effective and pleasing.
