I was trying my wedding dress on for the final fitment. It wasn’t a hot day but I am one of these people that gets hot for no reason. Maybe it is nerves, excitement, anticipation whatever, the perspiration was literally running in rivers from under my arms. This is a most embarrassing situation to be in and I have had it all my life. I don’t like going shopping for clothes for obvious reasons and avoid the changing rooms with a vengeance. I would rather take something home and try it on, then have to take it back!

My daughter was with me for this dress fitting and I mentioned it to her (well if you can’t talk to your daughter about these things who can you talk to?). She sympathised and told me she has just the same problem but slightly milder (I suppose she would have being my flesh & blood). She told me about a product she had found and recommended I use it. As we left the dress shop we passed a chemist and went straight in to see if they had it. We found it and I haven’t looked back since.

The Product??

*** PerspireX Roll On Anti-perspirant ***

Now I have used most products on the market for my problem. I never got to the stage of being “smelly” just constantly wet, even on winter days. There were times when I would feel dry but only a small thing needed to happen, like someone talking to me and I would have the tell tale signs. My clothes were soon ruined under the arms, nothing kept “as new”, there would be white patches, the material would eventually turn hard and the clothes were no longer suitable for wearing. Anyone who has never experienced this must wonder what I am talking about but it is a real problem. Unbeknown to me my daughter was having the same problem with her clothes (she’s 25 by the way) – it is not something you usually talk about! I teach dance, which increases the problem dramatically, and sometimes the patch of wet under the arms was huge! You get to wearing black or white clothing, as the wet patch is not seen so easily – yes I know all the solutions!

I couldn’t wait to use the PespireX and my daughter had already told me I had to use it before going to bed, leave it on overnight then wash it off in the morning. When I arrived home I opened the packet. In it was just a very small bottle, it had cost me £7.95 and I thought this is going to get expensive, but then if it did it’s job who cares.

That evening, before going to bed I read the instructions carefully. The first line said “It is important to follow these instructions very carefully for maximum effect.” It goes on to say “Apply PerspireX at night before going to bed as the sweat glands are less active at night.” With this I thought “You haven’t met me!” It tells you the underarm area must be completely dry before application and advises using a hairdryer on a cool setting to dry the area. This I did! I felt silly enough doing it but even sillier when my partner caught me at it and couldn’t believe his eyes. Also the area must be free from any cuts or abrasions so do not use for 48 hours after shaving, waxing or depilatory. When everything is completely dry you use the product on you “sparingly” and allow it to completely dry before putting your arms down by your side. Well this bit was hilarious. It doesn’t seem to want to dry, especially on me, so I was walking around with my arms in the air for what seemed like hours. The PerspireX seemed to go sticky but not dry. I had my arms in the air trying to blow it dry but you try blowing under your arms, it’s not as easy as it seems!! (I now have visions of you all trying to blow under your arms – I hope no-one is watching you?)

Eventually I decide I have had enough and my arms are starting to ache; also I’m getting rather tired as it is bed-time. It does warn you that smarting & itching may be experienced if you do not allow the product to dry fully after application, but I thought I would put up with a little bit of discomfort if it works. I did get some itching but it didn’t stop me sleeping. In the morning I washed the product off as instructions and desperately wanted to put my usual deodorant on but resisted. The first day I was aware that the sweating was not as bad although not as I would like it, but the instructions said it would take a few days applications before the desired effect would be achieved. After this applications need only be made 2 or 3 times a week.

After using the product for a couple of weeks as instructed it was amazing. I was no longer getting the wet patches, I no longer had to use sprays, roll-ons, sticks or anything under my arms. I could wear any colour I wanted without the embarrassment. My clothes were not getting any white marks and were keeping like new. Once the desired effect had happened I went to using PespireX to just 3 times a week and now have found I only need to use it twice a week.

You can imagine the joy I had on my wedding day! We were in Jamaica and I went through the whole day without perspiring. Now that was a brilliant test for the product. Not only the heat of the Caribbean, but the nerves of saying your vows and people watching etc. I feel so more confident in doing things now.

I have also discovered there is a PerspireX Lotion for the hands and feet and I use this too. I would highly recommend the PerspireX products to anyone who has a perspiration problem, but would advise to read and follow the instructions very carefully before doing so.

We have recommended PerspireX to a few people now, including my son, and they are all so pleased to be using it. What we cannot understand is, with so many people having this problem (and there are a lot of people out there that does), why it is not advertised?

This product contains Alcohol Denat., Aluminium Chloride, Dimethicone Copolyol and is tested on human volunteers only. It can cause irritation so be aware. They also have a website at WWW.perspirex.co.uk

Thanks for reading xx

I have exactly the same problem as you dscribed and have tried every possible antiperspirant available. I am heading to the chemist tomorrow to buy what I hope will be the end of my embarassing and annoying problem.
