Advantages: Reduces Sweat, Reduces Smell
Disadvantages: Does not completely solve the problem, Could create HCL (and burn you) if skin is not completely dry
I am a filthy, dirty, smelly pig. My armpits don’t simply perspire, they shoot out buckets of sweat, like fire hydrants on full blast. And, as if that were not bad enough, my sweat has a pungent aroma that could probably be used as a biological weapon of mass destruction. I don’t know why my body chemistry is the way it is. I have tried many different antiperspirants over the years, I bathe regularly and I stay away from smelly foods such as onions and garlic. However, I have always had this problem with severely sweaty arm pits. I’ve even tried shaving my arm pits, but to no avail. I came across PerspireX in the store one day and found it to be interesting for it is not to be used like a typical antiperspirant. Instead of applying it in the morning, you are to use it every night before you go to bed. First, you must wash and dry your armpits thoroughly and then apply PerspireX. If you don’t dry yourself completely, then the moisture on your skin could react with PerspireX and create hydrochloric acid (which can burn the skin). Therefore, you must be sure that you are completely dry and the product recommends using a hair dryer to ensure that your skin is entirely dry, which is what I generally do. Then, when you wake up the next morning, you wash the PerspireX off with plain soap and water and that is it. You don’t use any more PerspireX nor do you apply any other antiperspirant. I thought this seemed rather odd, but having tried a number of other antiperspirants I was willing to try anything. After the first few days I didn’t notice any change, but I continued to use it since I know sometimes it takes a while for things to begin to work. After about eight days, I began to notice that I wasn’t sweating as much as I had before and that the smell, while still somewhat noticeable, had certainly decreased. My co-workers had also noticed a change around this time. I work in a small of
fic e doing a lot of IT support work. There are about seven of us in this one room with lots of computers and no windows so it can get fairly hot. And with me in the room, it usually gets fairly smelly. Well, my co-workers have always been kind and considerate of my body chemistry problems. They have never teased me about it and have put up with me for several years. However, once the PerspireX began to work, my co-workers were quick to comment and congratulate me. They are extremely pleased for me. PerspireX has not completely solved my problem, but it has dramatically reduced it. My smell is definitely better and I am not nearly as drenched in sweat as I was before, although I still get wet rings under the arms. PerspireX recommends that once it starts to work you should gradually reduce the number of applications to only one or two times a week so that you don’t irritate your skin through overuse. However, once I tried to reduce my applications, I found it not to be as effective. Everyone’s body chemistry is different, but for me PerspireX is the best weapon to combat body odor and sweat. If you have a severe condition like mine, then you should try PerspireX. Tips: In order to make sure that I get the maximum exposure to PerspireX at night, once I apply the PerspireX I wrap my underarms in cling-film and firmly tape it to my body with tape. This ensures that all of the PerspireX stays on my underarms and doesn’t rub off on my bedsheets. I learned this trick from an Internet site.

- 23/05/05 Thank you for your really honest review on this product. I have a similar problem with sweating but not the odour. I never thought anything like that would work so I straight away went for the botox injections. However they can be very expensive. I might give this product a try.
Thanks

You can find this wonderful product at Boots in the deodorant section. I believe the last time I purchased it, the cost was somewhere between £6 and £7. |
