Today it is a known fact that one's grooming says so much about a person even before she says a word. And as any lady will agree, removing unwanted hair is a boring, yet necessary routine in this grooming process: Waxing in the parlour is fine but cost is also a factor. And then there are so many rituals like haircut, facials and spa treatments for which parlours are a better option than doing it by yourself at home. Shaving is an easy option at home but the rough aftergrowth is certainly undesirable, not to mention the frequency in which it has to be done. I have been using an epilator for about 5 years now but have have this Phillips for about one year. The Satinelle soft doesn't do a bad job but I must admit my old one was better. This epilator is made from a soft moulded plastic and is about 7cm wide at the top tapering down to approx. 2cm, 9cm long and about 2.5 cm deep and is quite easily held in your hand. It is mains operated and comes with an adaptor that contains a transformer and plugs into our standard plug, it does not take a battery so is not suitable to take abroad unless you have a travel adaptor. On and off for the last year I have been considering buying myself an epilator. There are reasons both for and against them in my eyes and the prospect of pain was my main reservation! Epilating is similar to waxing as it pulls the hair out from the root so it takes, depending on the speed at which your hair grows, up to six weeks to grow back again. Having tried waxing I thought that if epilating was anything like it then my money would be being wasted as the epilator I bought would end up being thrown to the back of a drawer as I couldn't face using it because of the pain!
