Advantages: No more allergic reactions!
Disadvantages: More expensive than most, but worth every penny!
If you suffer from sun induced allergies, you will know how awful they can be. You desperately want to sit out in the sun and get a lovely, healthy looking tan, but afterwards what could be worse than developing a red, itchy rash that drives you mad. I have had prickly heat before - a red, blotchy rash that itches and stings and like the name suggests, feels like your skin is prickling all over. It happened for the first time when I was in Turkey and I’m afraid it rather spoiled my holiday since Hubbie is a real sun worshipper and I had to sit in the shade covered in red blotches - not a pretty sight! Before the next holiday I scoured Boots in the hope of seeing something that would offer me more protection and spied Piz Buin Sun Allergy Lotion, which claims to protect against sun allergies. I bought 2 bottles on the spot and what a godsend they were. No prickly heat, no itchy rashes, not even any sunburn, but then I suppose, I was fanatical about slapping it on! It has a factor of 8 so obviously it needs to be reapplied more often than most. It is also water resistant and I can vouch for this since after you have been swimming, you can actually see a very thin film of the lotion sitting on the top of your skin. It smells divine and is easy to apply since it soaks in fairly easily. I suppose the only downside is the price but then, I would gladly pay anything in order to prevent prickly heat!
