OK, so one thing I've learned since looking around for cosmetics and toiletries to review is that Primark body butter lasts FOREVER - this tub, for example, was purchased two years ago almost to the day (I remember buying it on the day of a big night out, I don't have automatic recall about my smellies purchases) and was promptly shoved in a drawer in the bathroom and has only just come to light again. I'm not even sure it's still available in this Pomegranate and Watermelon fragrance, but as I'm not a fan of the smell of the butter that doesn't matter in the slightest to me!
I can smell both pomegranate and watermelon in the butter but as with most things that have even a hint of watermelon it's this I can smell strongest, the pomegranate comes through more as a general fruitiness which honestly I think is ruined by the addition of the watermelon (although this is obviously personal preference).
The butter is nowhere near as thick as other butters I've used recently from the Body Shop and also my current favourites, Boots Extracts, but it's reasonably moisturising and works pretty well considering my 200ml tub only cost £1.50 - it has a slightly 'wet' sensation as I apply it and doesn't absorb very quickly into my skin, this is a nuisance as I like to use body butter first thing in the morning but I have to make sure I apply this on as soon as I get up otherwise it can cause me to be late for the school run while I wait for it to absorb. Not good.
It gives my skin a slightly softer feel but that doesn't last anywhere near all day and on those days when my skin is dry and misbehaving I need to use moisturiser at least on my legs and arms later on in the day (which I don't have to do when using others). Unfortunately the stink of watermelon lingers for far too long and that has actually put me off using it a few times on days where I really don't want this sickly fragrance around me.
For the price it's worth a try, if you don't like it you've lost £1.50 but if you DO like it then you've found a very cheap body butter which will save you a fortune in comparison to other butters.
Pomegranate & Watermelon Body Butter - 200ml
I received this product as a gift, for Christmas. However every year I try to ensure that I have used all of them up and this can take some time. This product does smell wonderful all fruity and fresh.
It was a light pink in colour, and had a wonderful light feel to it. The product came in a round flat tub, and it was easy to get the product out.
I used it for a while before the issues began. On my arms it was OK however after a bath where I shaved my legs. The product started to sting, and caused a bad reaction. I've always had sensitive skin, and this product obviously disagreed with it.
It was a real shame, as it had smelt wonderful, however I wouldn't use the product again as it obviously wasn't suitable for my skin, and it has put me off the rest of the range also.
I'm going to give the product three stars as it did smell wonderful, it was just my sensitive skin that meant I couldn't use it all up.
I admit I had this in 1 of my drawers for ages - probably close to a year. I have a huge backlog of products to use up and although I really should use all my excess products up I keep buying more things -ooops. I go to Primark now and again and tend to stock up on things when I go.
This comes in a 200ml tub and it reminded me of The Body Shop Body Butter. The tub is quite wide and not all that deep so is easy enough to reach into this Tub and scoop this lotion out. The tub looks simple but colourful enough and considering this was selling for only £1 then I thought it was worth a try.
The Lotion is thick enough and when you scoop some of this out it melts a little with the warmth of your hand. This runs in easily and although the scent isnt that strong the light scent is nice. The smell of the Pomegranate and Watermelon is nice together and once this has soaked into your skin the greasiness goes away and the scent seems to linger which is nice.
This does seem to Moisturise ok but it doesn't give all that much moisturising. It does ok though and for a bit light moisture for a great price and a nice scent it is well worth a try.
Was at the check out in Primark last week and came across their 'Pomegranate & Watermelon Body Butter' in the shelves by the queues.
They had been slashed down in the sale to £0.50!!
I thought I'd check it out and sniffed it and it had a gorgeous scent; a sweet fruity scent and they were literally giving it away as this was the large 200 ml tab.
The Package: The body butter comes in a large rounded 200 ml tab that has a pink cover with a black border round it and the words WE 'LOVE' FRUIT in bold graphic letters at the top.. The 'LOVE' is in the form of a 'heart-shape' and if this does not draw you, the pink cover will.
Below the above words are the 'Pomegranate & Watermelon body butter with fruit extracts' in smaller bold font.
The rest of the container is a colourless transparent colour and you can see the body butter which is pink (slightly purple tinge) through the container.
The texture of the body butter is really smooth, rather softer than most body butters, it has an almost lotion-like texture and it could pass for a lotion if put in a bottle I suppose:)
The Ingredients as on the container are: 'Aqua, Glyceryl Stearate, Beeswax, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Stearic Acid, Pomegranate Extract, Melon extract' and the list kinda goes on...
On the back of the jar, you will find it states that it contains 'real botanical extracts of Pomegranate and Watermelon. Formulated with skin conditioners and natural beeswax to intensively moisturise your skin leaving it soft and smooth.'
You will also see the shelf life symbol of 12M which means you can use it for twelve months after opening.
Have to agree with the above, although it is cheap, when I have used this, it has left my skin feeling fresh, soft and smooth and the scent is long-lasting on the skin.
Have used it after a shower for the past week, using the body scrub within the same range and while the fact that it had a great scent drew me to it, I think it leaves the skin feeling really smooth which I did not expect with such a cheap Primark product; I normally buy the Bodyshop versions of similar products which cost 10 times what this cost...
Great scent, generous 200ml jar, leaves skin smooth, It's good value for money.

When it comes to body lotions and creams I really do buy alot of them and to be perfectly honest with you I tend to use them once or twice (tops) and then bung them to the bottom of a drawer and after a few months of forgetting their existence I chuck them out! I have the best of intentions of using them of course and it was actually a New Years resolution of mine, to get soft, hydrated and smooth, healthy skin and to use it daily. Ok it was the first New Years resolution I failed to keep but again with the best of intentions I did stock up of a few products! One was this one.
Now when it comes to Primark toiletries I really have found them hit and miss. A couple of products I've really loved (see reviews) and a couple haven't been all that great but to be fair the thing that makes me keep repurchasing stuff is that nothing I've tried has been completely rubbish, and that almost all of the toiletries have been a pound to purchase so it makes it economical to try things out.
I don't know about you but I always end up buying bits and pieces that are near the tills cos the queue is always so long and I get bored and nosy and think oh well what#s another quid when I'm only spending 15 quid anyway on 34 new outfits (ok eggageration but you know what I mean lol). So of late I've ended up with lots of new slipper socks, socks and yep toiletries I don't really need but hey ho at the prices charged I can't moan though I am finding it hard to manovoure around my bedroom and bathroom without hurting myself of late lol
200ml large round see through pot. It's not a 'fat' pot hence why it's quite big, it's somewhat shallow! The lid is black shiny plastic which twists on and off and on that is a pink label and in black writing I'm told it's 'We Love Fruit. (The word love though is replaced with a black heart shape) and under that in large black lettering I'm told it's Pomegranate & Watermelon Body Butter With Fruit Extracts. On the bottom of the pot all in black writing once again I'm told it's Pomegranate & Watermelon Body Butter With Fruit Extracts, told a bit about the product and given directions for use and warned not to eat it as it isn't food (lol slightly worrying to have to be told that and one can only assume one daft bint has in the past tried to fill her face with it for some reason lol), ingredients are listed, the size is stated, contact details for Primark are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. All in all it's nice enough, fun, bright packaging. I like the way I can see my body butter through the clear plastic so I can see at a glance how much I have left etc and I like the way it's all colour co-ordinated I.E the colour of the lotion matches the labelling and that the black writing matches the lid, making this not stand out like a thrown together ill thought out too cheap tub!
A Bit About The Product According To The Bottom Of The Tub....
Pamper your skin with We Love Fruit Creamy Body Butter containing real botanical extracts of Pomegranate and Watermelon. Formulated with skin conditioners and natural beeswax to intensively moisturise your skin leaving it soft and smooth.
Directions For Use....
Apply to dry skin and gently massage in until absorbed.
Well you open up the tub (which is simple to do of course). I do advise you to store this the right way up cos it will splat out all over you and make a mess if you don't look after it as once the lid is open you are simply met by a big container full of it.
To look at it reminds me of the colour and almost of the consistency of blamange (though not quite as set). It's a rich bright shiny pink and it looks like a cream but glossier. If you shake it (with lid off) it isn't runny but it wibble wobbles about in the pot well but isn't runny and wet as such lol
Smell wise it's fruity of course. It has a sweet and natural smell of Pomegranate and Watermelon really well blended together. If you don't like smelling fruity don't bother with this because not only does it smell highly fragrant in the tub, it smells strong when using it and lingers on the skin for hours after application though the smell isn't distinctive just tangy and fruity and very pleasant indeed. I love the smell of this and feel clean and fresh using it, particularly after a shower or bath but I wouldn't say use this before going night clubbing or anything! I use this when I want a burst of hydration and want to feel re energised so I use this really just before slipping into my bed..alone lol
Using it is ever so easy. It isn't too thick, it doesn't crumble or feel heavy on the skin it simply glides on and doesn't feel greasy or thick, blends well and vanishes and that's it. No hint of colour is left behind, no greasiness can be felt and if you watch the amount of product you use you can dress almost immediately not having to worry about residue of any kind transferring anywhere.
The results are great. It hydrates my skin leaving it touchably soft and smooth. It's very simple to use and is incredibly economical because a little goes a long way and the outlay is at the most a quid (I have seen this on offer at 50p in Primark too!). It's a really nice, feel good product and I find it really does uplift my mood somewhat and my skin feel smoother. I think it's girly and a bit fun and this product has room in my life for a nice pampering session on my own! Love it Primark! It's great!
