Advantages: Soft to the touch, soft to the skin, and a huge range available

Disadvantages: N/A

Browsing my local Wilkinson’s shelf for a new shower gel, I come across a lovely looking care for me pink shower gel with extracts of cotton and milk. Since we’ve had our shower installed, I’ve always used body shop products but since I hadn’t been to the body shop in a long while, it was time to stock up on cheaper shower gel. I have used the Radox bath range and found them wonderful, just to soak in lovely bubble bath at the end of the day feels like heaven to my muscles. But at the start of a day, all I feel like is a quick hot shower, so I needed a new shower gel. At £1.48 it’s pretty cheap. Sometimes, Tesco, Wilkinson’s and Asda also have special offers on, either BOGOF or two for two pounds, which is a bargain in my eyes.

*****History on Radox*****

Radox started off in Britain in 1908 as a bath foot salts product, which is a huge difference from what they offer nowadays. By the 1960’s, this foot bath salt was soon turned into a liquid, a blue liquid to be precise, and their advertising campaigns began. In the 1970’s, when showers were becoming more popular in homes, Radox launched a shower gel with a hook and in the 1980’s liquid soap was the newest product offered by Radox. For almost a hundred years of making lovely soaps for people, it’s no wonder millions trust Radox.

*****Charity*****

At this moment in time, if you purchase a care for me shower gel, there is a peel off on the back where you enter your details, send it off and for every slip Radox receive, they donate 50p to The British Heart Foundation, and if you visit http://www.radox.co.uk/bhf/ and donate to The British Heart foundation, you can win one of three spa packages. Right now, Radox have launched a new soap called heart warming available in a hand soap, a bubble bath or a shower gel, and more proceeds raised go to the British heart foundation, so a huge thumbs up for Radox

*****Packaging*****

This shower gel is nice and compact, so you could slip it into an overnight stay bag and not have to worry about too much room being used up. The hook slips over the shower gel packaging which means that there isn’t a hook always sticking out all the time and simple enough to pull out and hang it from a shelf in your bathroom. When you open the lid, you have to squeeze to get the gel out which I find lovely as it means the gel can’t be wasted by just falling out, and doesn’t make a mess everywhere if you just left it hanging. This is brilliant having it on a shower gel, because it doesn’t leak everywhere.

*****The gel*****

The gel comes out in a thick consistency and you don’t need much of it to lather up on a sponge. I find I only need to use a medium squirt. It smells of something sweet, however on the front of the packaging, it states that it is made with extracts of cotton and milk, so I can’t put my finger on what it smells like, but it does smell clean and wonderful. It feels soft to the touch and causes no allergic reaction on my skin. Sometimes at work, I have to put my hands into a bucket of flash liquid and water which can damage my skin, but using this shower gel puts back some moisture that the flash has taken out. Getting out of the shower, I can’t smell the shower gel on me, but I can smell it all around the bathroom. The shower gel makes me feel clean for around a day, possibly a day and a half if I’m lucky enough not to have done much sport or work.

*****How to use*****
1) Make skin wet and place the sponge under the shower to get wet
2) Wring excess water from sponge and squeeze a small amount onto the sponge
3) Squeeze the sponge a few times so it comes up frothy and bubbly
4) Rub onto skin and rinse

*****Overall*****

Overall, this shower gel is brilliant, it cares for my skin feels soft to the touch, doesn’t leak, and good value for money. This 250ml bottle cost me £1.48 and has lasted me since December, and I still have half a bottle left. I like the fact that Radox are doing their charitable bit in donating 50p for every bottle sold if people send back the slip, and are raising money on their website through donations to win a spa break. I give this shower gel a ten out of ten, and thoroughly recommend it for you to try.

Price: £1.48-£1.68
Where? Asda, Wilkinson’s, Tesco, Superdrug, Boots and any chemists should sell the care for me range.
