Advantages: Works well

Disadvantages: Marketing gobbldygook doesn't make much sense

My former housemate is the one who chose this handwash for the household. I wouldn't have picked it myself because I usually choose handwashes that are meant to be moisturising and this one doesn't mention anything about moisturising on the label. However, I have been converted to using this handwash in the kitchen, if not in the bathroom.

The scent in this handwash is meant to be coriander and lime. I do feel these scents go nicely in the kitchen because they are flavourings that I use often in my cooking.

The handwash comes in a clear plastic pump container with the brand name on the front and the words "Natural Antibacterial Handwash." There are also little drawings of limes and some green stuff fuzzy stuff that I think is meant to represent coriander.

Now, I didn't understand why this was supposed to be naturally antibacterial so I read the back of the dispenser to find out more. All it says is that naturally active lime, known for its uplifting benefits is blended with coriander, giving an uplifting fragrance. Sounds....uplifting? Maybe (but just because they say it twice doesn't make it so). Enlightening? Not at all!

Then I read the ingredients list and there is indeed a listing for extract of coriandrum sativum and another for citrus aurantifolia extract. I take it these are the lime and coriander. But this is certainly not an all natural product as there are plenty of other chemial-sounding ingredients including sodium laureth sulfate, sodium benzoate, with these and more coming higher in the list of ingredients than the lime or the coriander.

That said, even if I don't really believe their marketing speak I do have to admit that I like this product. I find the scent very subtle and not at all overpowering (some handwashes are so strongly scented that they make my sensitive eyes sting - but not this one). I also find it washes my hands squeaky clean but doesn't dry them out.

This handwash costs £1.66 and is available at Boots.

Summary: Does what it says on the tin, although not that naturally
