Advantages: Lovely fruity smell . natural herbs and minerals , kind to skin

Disadvantages: Limited edition

I have tried a few hand washes over the years. Initially some were found to be a bit strong and not good for Hubby’s fair and dainty hands. All joking apart he has a nickel allergy which can be triggered by a reaction on the skin on his wrists when wearing certain watches. Similarly some hand washes have aggravated this skin . I have found most of the Radox hand washes to be fine for both of us to use and that they have caused no problems.

Popping into my local chemist last week I purchased a limited edition Radox Heart Warming Handwash . The fragrance is Chamomile and red berries ‘ to help leave your skin feeling soft and pampered’ It retailed at £1.59 but usually sells for £1.89. It is packaged in an opaque plastic bottle with a white press down pump action top. The handwash is a deep shade of bright red, a sort of maroon raspberry colour.

The label has some information about Radox supporting the British Heart Foundation and that it is raising funds for Heart nurses . The computer link bhf.org.uk/valentine on the packaging made me wonder is this product was brought out around Valentines Day. You can donate money at this link . There is a red heart on the label which could symbolise the valentine link or just the name Heartwarming or the Heart Foundation link. Radox says it is supporting the BHF raising money for Heart nurses but I am not sure what it is contributing . Whether you will find this product locally depends on if it was limited around valentines day or just limited , I should think , as it is now late June.

However the Chemist had a few items from this range for sale including shower gel. This Radox Handwash has 300mls of the product in this bottle. If for any reason this hand wash gets into your eyes you will need to rinse immediately with cold, clean water .

So the verdict.

I love the smell of this Handwash. It is reminiscent of summerfruits in a very light way. The Handwash is thick and similar in appearance to the Strawberry sauce you squirt on ice cream. It lathers to a creamy, soapy consistency but does seem to leave your hands a little pink or even red . Although it states it leaves your skin smooth and silky I am suffering with dry hands at the moment and so I still need to apply handcream ; because of this I will have to say the juries still out on this handwash’s skin softening properties . As the label says it is a natural blend of herbs and minerals .

This Handwash only leaves a faint , fruity scent on your hands . I imagine the shower gel would give a lovely aroma whilst bathing . So yes I recommend this Radox Heart Warming Handwash as a Handwash that is a little more luxurious than a normal everyday one.
