Advantages: Pleasant lavendar smell
Disadvantages: Weak smell, no lasting scent on body, need to use lots to get clean
I'm a huge fan of Radox shower gels and creams and love trying out all the new ones that I find on the shop shelves. I'm quite a girly girl so tend to prefer trying the ones that have girly colours and smells that look pretty in the bathroom. So when I stumbled upon Radox's Relax shower therapy, I immediately liked the lilac coloured look and flowery smell of it so decided to give it a try.
The shower gel comes in the usual plastic opaque container as pictured above. It has a lilac flip and click lid at the bottom and a lilac handle at the top which you can flip up and hang over a rail in the shower for easy use. You can see through the container that the gel is also a pale lilac colour. It is a relaxing shower gel with a blend of lavender and waterlily. According to the back of the bottle, the sweet smell of lavender clears your head after a tiring day and the waterlily helps to soothe your body and mind. It is meant to be a calming and therapeutic shower gel made to help you relax and unwind at the end of a busy and tiring day.
Usually with Radox products, as soon as I open the lid I can smell their pleasant scents. However, with this one I had to put my nose right up to the bottle opening to actually be able to smell it. It does have a sweet lavender scent which is very pleasant just not a very strong smell. I found that the gel, once squeezed into my hands, took a lot of hard rubbing to actually make it lather up. And I needed a lot in my hands to use on my body. The normal amount of shower gel that I use wasn't enough as it seemed to either fall off or soak into the skin really quickly leaving me with no more in my hands. The reason why I love Radox shower gels and creams so much is because they all have gorgeous smells and leave my skin smelling fresh and pleasant long after I've got out of the shower. However, this Relax gel doesn't do that. I can't smell any scent on my skin at all almost directly after I've used it and it feels like I need to use a load of it to actually clean myself and make me feel refreshed. It's called a relaxing product but it really doesn't make you feel relaxed as I have to rub my hands together hard to lather it up and sniff my nose really hard to be able to smell it so I'm actually doing more work than I should be doing!
The 250ml bottle costs around £1.50 - the same as all other Radox shower gels - but can often be found in offers for £1 or BOGOF. However, due to the lack of smell and scent left on my skin after I've used it, I definitely won't be buying this Relax product again. Even though I've still got half a bottle of it left, I'm now back to using my other favourite Radox varieties and save this one for washing my smelly feet with at the end of a long day!!
Summary: Definitely not one of Radox's best
