Advantages: Smells lovely, Feels nice on the skin, Leaves you feeling clean.

Disadvantages: Cranberry seeds don't do anything!

Shower Smoothies are the latest range from the Radox brand and come in 3 fragrances; Soul Soother, Natural Balance and Energy Therapy. I received a sample tube of the Soul Soother fragrance via Pigsback.com and therefore this is the fragrance that I will be concentrating on in this review.

My 50ml sample came in a transparent plastic tube with a flip top lid, which is easy to use and prevents leakage of the 'smoothie'. The Radox logo is shown on the packaging with the words 'shower smoothies' and the fragrance underneath. In case you get a little carried away or perhaps confused by what sort of 'smoothie' this is, the label clearly states 'Please Do Not Drink'.

This particular fragrance - Soul Soother - is a pale pink creamy liquid, which can be seen through the tube. The smoothie has a number of small cranberry seeds in too, which I assume have been added to the product to act as a exfoliator.

Soul Soother is described on the packaging as being 'An indulgent, creamy chamomile shower smoothie with blackcurrant and real cranberry seeds', which sounds really appealing, but does it deliver on it's claims?

Well I can't deny that the product does look very creamy and it does feel very indulgent on the skin. It smoothes on nicely, lathers well and leaves your skin feeling well moisturised after it has been rinsed off. The smoothie is quite thick, so it doesn't slip through your fingers before you've had a chance to put it on like some other similar products on the market do! You also don't have to use a lot to get a good result, so it appears to be quite cost effective too.

The Soul Soother smells fantastic - good enough to eat in fact! You can clearly smell the blackcurrant, but it is not overpowering and the scent reminds me of forest fruits or mixed berries (I'm sure I can smell raspberries in there too!). The scent remains on your skin after washing it off, but is subtle enough not to interfere with any perfume that you may be wearing.

The one thing that I am not sure about is the cranberry seeds. These seem to be a bit pointless as they aren't noticable when using the product and if you couldn't see them in the tube and in your shower/bath afterwards, you wouldn't know that there were any seeds in it! I didn't feel that these added anything to the smoothie, as they didn't exfoilate which is what I assumed they were there for?! However this is only a minor thing for me, especially as it doesn't advertise itself as being a body scrub.

So would I buy this? To be honest, yes I probably would! It left my skin feeling really soft after use and it smells divine. I would be interested in trying the other two fragrances in the range - and seeing if the 'bits' in the other two work any better than the cranberry seeds!

I would recommend giving this a try if you're after a body wash. Personally I feel that Radox is a brand that I trust and this product does everything that it claims to do!

These Shower Smoothies are currently on offer at Tesco (until 15/03/09) where they can be purchased for the cheaper price of £1.50 for 200ml(usually £2.41).

Summary: Well worth a try!

I'm slightly cynical that they've used the name Smoothie, just to try and jump on the healthy drink bandwagon and make people believe that these have special health benefits. The "Please Do Not Drink" label is hilarious though.
