Advantages: Wonderful smells, fells like a pampering treat

Disadvantages: A bit pricy if not on offer

I bought these shower smoothies in Tesco's a couple of weeks ago as they were on a BOGOF offer and I thought it seemed like a bit of a bargain. I've wanted to try them before but at £2.50 each for a 200ml tube, I thought they were a bit pricey compared to some others on the market.

I bought the Energy Therapy and the Soul Soother fragrances, one for me and on for my other half (not sure he would appreciate a girly pink shower gel !!). There was one more fragrance on offer which was the Natural Balance which is a Honey and Yoghurt fragrance but that smelled a bit too sickly sweet for me.

The smoothies come in a clear plastic recyclable tube so you can see the wonderful colour of the gel inside and boast that the gels are 'a blend of natural herbs and minerals'. They are 'upside down' bottles so that the gel is always near the cap at the bottom ready to use meaning that less is wasted and the nice colourful designs look great on the bathroom shelf.

The first one I tried was the Soul Soother. I loved the girly pink colour and the little bits of cranberry seeds in it which give an exfoliating property to it. The fragrance is a lovely summery berry smell which is sweet but not too sickly, like fresh summer fruits. It's a luxurious smell ideal to use after a hectic day to help you unwind and feel pampered. It's more a creamy consistency rather than a gel, it's nice and thick so you can work it into your skin quite well without it being washed off too quickly.

The fragrance of the Energy Therapy is lovely zingy lemongrass and ginseng with little bits of loofah in it to give it the same exfoliating properties as the cranberry seeds in the soul soother. This is definitely a more uplifting and energising fragrance, good for waking up sleepy heads and shaking off that morning after feeling.

The fragrances are quite strong but not overpowering, the only thing is they doesn't last that long once you're out of the shower and dry which is a shame but they do work into a lovely lather on contact with water and feels lovely and silky on your skin, not over soapy or harsh at all.

I found that the gels weren't drying on my skin at all, the Soul Soother one in particular helped to make my skin feel really smooth and soft and although I always moisturise after a shower, I didn't feel like I needed to use much after using these.

The amazing smells are definitely the main selling point for these gels as well as the nice packaging and vibrant colours. They smell so good they even come with a warning on them not to drink them!!

I will definitely be buying these again as a nice treat for myself but at the price of £2.50, i'll be looking out for any offers around.

Summary: Posh creamy goodness for your shower
