Advantages: Long lasting, Simple to use pump with easy closure system, Smells great

Disadvantages: It runs out eventually.....

One day around a year ago my Mum asked me if I had tried Radox Supersoap yet. My little ears pricked up at the word RADOX (yes I am receiving help now for my addiction) and a panic stricken "Oh my gawd theres one out there I have yet to try" thought flashed rapidly across my cerebral synapses! Clearly taking pity on my stunned look she let me try some of hers and it was love at first sniff. Practical as ever my Mother then pointed out to me that in John Lewis its only 99 pence a bottle. What more could I say? Sold to the woman with the Radox fetish (ahem).

~ THE BOTTLE ~

The bottle is rectangular in shape as opposed to the myriad of liquid soap bottles out there which are either a flat style or rounded. Predominently white with a yellow label and yellow pump this product is very easily identifiable when on a retailers shelves.

The lid/pump is, as far as I am aware, unique to Radox. Unlike all the liquid soaps and cleansers I have so far tried this one can be turned "on" and "off" with a simple half turn of the top. With a lot of these types of pump action dispensers they do have the ability to be closed but to do so you have to push down on the top of the pump and twist. This means that you end up squirting gloop all over the sink whenever you want to seal the bottle shut which tends to render the process messy, time consuming and very off-putting.

Radox, bless their hearts, have cured this once and for all by having a very simple system whereby a half turn to the left or right turns the pump action on and off. No pushing down, no trying to twist at the same time, no cursing! A half turn is all that is needed and a tiny "click" is audible when youve hit home so to speak. The directions for turning are embossed on the top of the pump lid but you have to look closely and know that they are there. Needless to say I have forgotten to tell the kids yet so this still befuddles them; but a

t least this super soap isnt going to waste.

~ THE SOAP ~

So now weve figured out how to get the stuff out of the bottle, whats it like? Well, its a wonderfully thick clear liquid with a very vague yellow tinge. It looks very yellow when you pump it out but thats because it is picking up the colour of the pump nozzle. Very little is needed to "do the job" as it is so luxuriously proportioned; is it just me or do most people judge quality of a product such as this on its gloopiness?

As its Radox it of course has the "secret blend of herbs and spices" not that you can ever smell them. This is the refreshing version so rather predictably it contains LEMON OIL but also LAVENDER. Odd combination you may think, as did I when I first read the label. Strange but true and whats more remarkable is that it is a combination that works from my point of view. My nasal passages pick up first on the lavender scent with the lemon coming in a close second.

The scent is reasonably strong but not over-powering. Radox claim it will mask even stubborn odours like fish, garlic and onion. I cant vouch for how it copes with fish but it does not only mask onion and garlic but it appears to eliminate those particularly powerful whiffs from my hands as after using this soap they never seem to come back again.

It is also a good food stain remover as Radox state it is and it has coped admirably with beetroot and carrot amongst others. Of course you expect soap to remove stains but I find that when it comes those in a liquid form some are distinctly poor in this performance area. For those of you with dry skin like mine you will be pleased to know that this contains added MOISTURISERS which I have find my hands feeling lovely and soft after each usage.

~ In SUMMARY ~

Designed I assume primarily for use in the kitchen I find it to be a good all round cleanser and I have one positioned by the ki
tchen sink and another in the bathroom. The bottle contains 300mls of Supersoap which given the paltry sum of ninety-nine pence I paid makes it beyond great value for money.

Should you be tempted to purchase some of this for yourself I caution you to shop around. This extra low price is the cheapest I have seen it anywhere; Wilkos ask around £1.40 and Ive seen it at the extortionate price of £2.20 in Safeways.

In my humble opinion this is the best Hand Wash I have found and it certainly beats a lot of the available competition not only on price but on scent and longevity; in other words a little goes a long way which means you get even more product effectively for your money. Another sure fire winner from those guys at Radox but I am thinking you would have to like lavender to fully appreciate it!
