Like I've mentioned in a previous review it is my fourth wedding anniversary and my husband bought me the Ralph Lauren Romance gift set which consisted of a 30ml perfume of Romance and a 100ml bottle of the Body Lotion. I always like the gift packs because they are usually quite good value for what you get and you always get some of the body lotion that goes along with the fragrance. This allows you to really layer your fragrance when you choose to wear this smell ensuring that the smell lasts for longer.
The reason why he chose the romance fragrance was because I wore it on my wedding day so it holds special memories for me. Ralph Lauren market this fragrance as evoking the timeless essence of falling in love - beautiful, perfect for a wedding day or anniversary treat, fragrance of tender moments and the simple joys of love. The body lotion comes in a lovely rectangular bottle which is a cream colour. The top of the bottle has a light gold screw top to it to enable you to get to the lotion. It looks very sleek and simple, just like the Ralph Lauren brand which I really like.
The lotion is really lovely and light and when you apply it to your skin it soaks in really quickly and is not heavy or greasy like some perfumed body lotions. I like the way it makes my skin feel. It gives quite a nice smell to your skin but it is not as heavy as the perfume which is nice as this is quite a flowery scent and too much I think would be overpowering, I think they have got the consistency just right with this one. It's really nice and moisturising too and my skin feels really soft after use.
The smell is lovely and like I said quite flowery. It is described as such, "At the beginning of the composition the notes of rose blend with citrusy oils and receive an unusual, unique melody. The pellucid flower of water lily, lily and romantic white violet give this perfume its silent grace and the spicy notes of carnation and ginger refresh. Patchouli, oakmoss and white musk finish the composition gently."
The gift set cost my husband (I had a quick look on the Boots website) £35 for the perfume and lotion but if you wanted to buy the lotion just on its own expect to pay about £15 for a 100ml bottle, a bit pricey but a good price for a perfumed lotion in my opinion.
