I have tried many neck creams over the years and have never been satisfied enough with the results to buy the cream again. So when I read rave reviews in the press about Re Vive Fermetif Neck Renewal Cream , I was interested but decided to try and get a sample before rushing out to buy this.
Revive wasn't a company I had heard of, so I researched it and discovered it was founded by a Harvard trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who decided to develop a skin care range because he realised many of his patients were asking for surgery to improve their skin and surgery could not achieve that. Utilising extensive research he had done on accelerating healing in burns victims he discovered a unique bio-engineered molecule that helped increase the healing rate of burns. He discovered that this same molecule could help rejuvenate skin.
This is described as a youth molecule that dramatically increases skin renewal and combined with firming agents and sun protection helps improve the appearance of sagging skin.
So much for the science bit and the claims by the company. The cream has a light consistency and a very natural light rose fragrance. The consistency is gorgeous and easily absorbs into the skin. I apply after cleansing and use in the morning and evening and massage into my neck and décolletage using light sweeping upward movements.
The full size product 75ml comes boxed in a pink plastic jar with a silver lid and an internal plastic lid. This will last 12 months once opened. This is a premium product but they haven't gone to town on the packaging , which is not a concern for me as I am more interested in the contents than fancy boxes and jars.
I was sceptical as I have tried so many creams from so many ranges at all different price points and have not been impressed by any of them. The skin on my neck is different to my face and I have found most creams just sit on the skin and don't absorb well . That must be because my skin feels thicker on my neck and I have no issues with the dry flakiness I have on my face. Some creams roll off completely and I end up with product fluff on my neck and whatever I use they haven't made much difference to the appearance which is slightly crepey , red and I have necklace lines. Not quite a full turkey or a tortoise, but I hate the way it looks and when I catch a glimpse in the mirror, I feel it doesn't match my face.
When I first applied ReVive , I knew I was going to like it as the texture is perfect on my neck and it absorbed immediately. There was a noticeable immediate improvement in the crepiness and the skin on my neck looked much smoother and more supple and the slight sheen of the product made the skin look healthy. I had read some rave reviews where people made these claims but like most things it doesn't always mean you will get the same results. So I was really thrilled with the results especially as this contains an SPF which is unusual in a neck cream. My skin is very reactive and I suffer from redness, so any slight irritant and my skin reacts and I end up looking worse.
So I used up my samples and really started to fall in love with this as my skin looked better and seemed to improve day by day. I then discovered that this cream costs a whopping £85 a jar, albeit a 75ml jar so larger than most skincare which comes in at 50ml.
Yes this is expensive, but it is the only neck cream I have come across that visibly improves the skin on my neck , Ok not to neck lift standard - you know the result you get if you pull the skin up yourself with your hands, but it does make the skin look noticeably firmer and smoother and so soft to the touch. A bonus for me is this stays on my skin, so no product roll off and fluffy bits on my neck and I love the subtle rose scent.
Would I Recommend
A resounding yes but only to the mature ladies , you don't need this if you are in your twenties or thirties or if you have fantastic skin at whatever age. Perhaps if you can afford this, start in your thirties if you don't want to sport a polo neck look all year round to hide your neck when you get older. Like your hands the neck is a dead giveaway of your age and it is very difficult to disguise and improve crepey skin. Most of the magic wrinkle filler products you can buy that sometimes work on your face , do nothing on my neck so perhaps something to consider as a preventative measure.
It is a considered purchase , but if you need a powerful moisturiser for your neck, then I would recommend this, but try before you buy as it would be a real waste if this didn't do the job for you. I wrote to some of the stockists and managed to get samples , so tested first.
I love love love this cream , the only downside being the price, but I think this may last 4 to 5 months as it is larger than a normal skin cream. I managed to buy this with 10% off from House of Fraser and clicking through a cashback site a further 5% off , so paid around £72 for this. I did track some down on ebay but although it was the real thing, it came in a small pot and once opened started to thicken up, although it still did the job.
5 stars from me
