Advantages: Effective.
Disadvantages: Not great scents.
I ALWAYS used to use spray on anti-perspirants, but was getting fed up white marks all over my clothes & the spray ending up all over the bathroom, so I decided to give roll-ons another go. I tried a couple of different brands before Mitchum. I found them all really sticky & horrible to use (even the Mitchum), but have found that the stickiness seems to resolve itself with continued use of roll-ons. Perhaps it's just a case of getting used to it, either mentally or physically, but get used to it I did.
I have since stuck with Mitchum. It is deemed as being one of the more effective anti-perspirants on the market, & I for one have always had great results with it. The blurb on the bottle states that Mitchum provides 48hr protection....yes, not just one day, but TWO. I'm afraid I can't testify as to whether or not this claim is true as I like to take at least one shower a day & always re-apply my anti-perspirant afterwards. Certainly it is plenty effective for a 24 hour period.
The directions are to apply the product evenly, & not to apply to irritated or damaged skin. I often find anti-perspirant to be an irritant after shaving, particularly after shaving with a new blade, but have never had any such issues with Mitchum.
I remember having problems with some roll-ons in years gone by, especially with the roller ball becoming stuck & having to free it with your hand, which meant you ended up with sticky deodorant all over your fingers. I've never had any such problems with Mitchum. The product always flows freely & evenly.
I buy the larger bottles which retail at £2.60 for 100ml. I have seen smaller bottles in the past, but not recently at Tesco where I usually shop. Mitchum also comes in 3 fragrances - Unscented, Shower Fresh & Powder Fresh. I usually buy shower fresh since I like a product to have some sort of scent, but don't particularly like the powder fresh variety which seems to smell a bit musty. The large bottles last ages - probably about 3 to 4 months, sometimes with more than one application a day, so they are really good value.
Overall, I think this is a really good anti-perspirant & I am now converted to roll-ons!

- 15/07/09 I have been using Mitchum roll-on for a while and convinced my sister to try it. She too is now a convert from aerosols! |

- 15/07/09 I had one of these, left it (opened) here for over a year and was amazed to find it still rolls fine after all that time. |
