Advantages: Quick to apply, cheap
Disadvantages: Stains palms if no gloves are used, medium too shimmery and dark
I reviewed earlier the St Tropez fake tan and in between applications or when I can't be bothered I use this product. It is relatively cheap and i find it does the job when you can't be bothered to do a proper tan.
It comes in various shades and also matte and shimmer versions. I have tested the Pale, Light and Medium varieties in both matte and shimmer and my favourite is the Light Shimmer. This gives a discreet shimmer unlike the medium, which is substantially darker and thus the shimmer shows up a lot more and is a bit much on my pale skin. The shimmer looks great on your legs because it makes them look shinier and slims down the arms. I also use this on my face UNDERNEATH my foundation because I find the combination of the light shimmer and foundation makes mmy face look less caked in make up.
The pale variety did not really achieve what I wanted it to. Even though I am incredibly pale, in the summer I do tan slightly and this was not enough to give me the desired effect. Although the lighter shade you go the easier it is to apply and the less orange you look. I had a friend who used the medium and applied one layer, waited for it to dry and then applied another and consequently looked like a tangerine, but I believe that was the desired effect.
The only thing is that it is wash off but seemingly it does not wash off your palms but if you trickle some liquid over your leg you will end up with a nice white dribble. Many a time have I come back from a night out with streaky legs after drinks have been dropped down me! So keep away from rain, drinks, sweat and anything else that could ruin it and if you do come in contact with afore mentioned liquids rub in the liquid as soon as you can so it doesnt streak! Foam parties are definitely a no-no.
So my advice would be use gloves to apply (and a mitt if possible), avoid getting any liquid on you and stay away from the medium shimmer. It also dries quite quickly so your better putting more on that less and then using a mitt immediately to get off the excess (somehow the medium seems to dry quicker!). It seems like a lot of effort but once you have the hang of it, its a quick solution for a night out.
Summary: Get the hang of it and it will save you ages of worrying your pasty in between all over tans
