Advantages: Interesting and light smell and is good quality
Disadvantages: Tough button to dispense spray with, smell is very light indeed (but pleasant)
Seeing this on a recent shopping trip in Sainsbury's on offer for 49p (instead of the usual 99p) I couldn't resist throwing a few in my overflowing trolley. Yes I have loads of cans and bottles of body sprays (after all I'm a girly chick!) but at that price I bought one of every fragrance available..twice. One set for my Mum and the other set for me! Hence all the reviews coming from me in the future about body sprays yet again lol! I tend to be someone that if I ever run out of anything (or even think I am) I buy it tenfold. Like the other day I thought I can't believe I only have 4 pairs of jeans that fit me so off I went shopping. 3 days later I now own 15 pairs! Same with body spray. I was down to about 3 bottles and I think panic took hold of me or something so when I saw these I stocked up big time. Not just in Sainsbury's either but that same week I went to Morrison's, Asda and Tesco and guess what!? Yes bought loads more! A compulsive shopper I am according to my parents and who am I to disagree!
The Packaging....
Light and darker peach, aluminum, 75ml tall cylinder can with integrated silver push button sprayer to the top of it and a see through plastic pull on/off lid that covers it securely (in a peachy colour). in silver writing and length-ways written on the front of the can I am told it's 'Grace' and then under that in light peach writing I'm told it's 'Sainsbury's Body Fragrance'. On the back of the can and all in black, small writing I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it, cautions are given and ingredients are listed. I'm told that Sainsbury's are against animal testing and fund research into alternatives and finally size is again stated (as I've told you already), the aluminium symbol is displayed as is the bar-code.
This to me doesn't look very modern but does appear soft and warm in it's appearance and definitely one that would attract my Mum to look at it (she's 63) where as at the normal price I'd look at this and assume it was a bit old fashioned in the smell stakes and wouldn't even do a sniff test of it!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Can....
Sainsbury's Grace Body Spray has a fruity, citrus fragrance with deodorising action to help give long lasting freshness throughout the day.
Directions For Use....
Shake well before use. Hold can approx 15cm (6 inches) from body and spray.
Me Using It....
Well I do spray about 15cm away from my body after thoroughly shaking the can first to make sure no contents have settled or anything.
Like all the cans in this range the integrated button is quite tough to use one handed as it's stiff so I do find it rather difficult to evenly spray over my body particularly behind me and the can is no good pointed at angles really so it does need to be used upright, however it is achievable to use an you do get the hang of it.
When you get the hang of spraying this product it comes out as a cool, clear 'mist'. You can't feel on the skin no matter how much you apply on yourself and is comfortable and none irritating to wear.
For me the fragrance of this is not adequately advertised by the can. The can looks soft and hazy. Ok this fragrance sort of is but it isn't as old fashioned in the fragrance stakes as the can suggests.
It has a slight flowery smell though nothing distinctive but the flowery smell is light and fresh, feminine and slightly sweet but in a kind of natural way instead of overly pongy or owt. Over that delicate flowery smell there is a zing of fresh citrus which pops all the other smells out though you couldn't say which citrus fruit it is.
It is very fresh and not zingy as such and remains light and airy. It mellows on the skin after a few minutes of applying it and I have used this one on myself in the morning and still smelt it fresh and gentle on my skin but not overpoweringly smelly at night. I can of course 'top up' the fragrance if desired and I can even lightly spray myself clothed on the way out of the door for a bit of fragrance and it leaves no residue where it shouldn't.
Overall....
A soapy and gentle smell which is warm and fuzzy to wear. Interesting fragrance and rather soft and mild, this does leave me feeling fresh and confident all day long though no one comments I smell gorg when I wear this one or anything about it. Suitable for any age, at this price it really is worth a try before they go back up in price as I'm sure this offer won't last forever! Interesting but if you like highly fragrant sprays...not for you!
Summary: Worth a try while it's on offer for sure!
