Advantages: Cheap, nice smell, lathers and cleans very well

Disadvantages: Horrid bottle

Never would I dream of purchasing a really cheap shower gel.... usually. To be honest I have loads hanging about my bathroom but when I saw this at the usual price of 10p I really had to buy it! Intrigued I was and when I was growing up and there wasn't a lot of money about in my household I remember us using stuff like this and rough old pink toilet roll and powder coffee! Yes I'm glad times have moved on and as it has I really wouldn't buy this...normally...

but not only was I intrigued by this 10p product but suggestion congestion (on Dooyoo) meant I was sat about with not alot to write about and when I saw this I remembered there was a link here for this! So I killed 2 birds at least purchasing this and I popped it in my trolley!

The Packaging....

Slightly frosted white oblong shaped bottle (you can still see the green liquid through it) with a white flip open (and close) lid in white plastic to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front there is a white sticky label and on there in orange there is a band of colour to the top of it and on that in white writing you are told it's 'Sainsbury's Basics'. Under that there is a drawing in orange of a shower head dripping water out of it and under that (also in orange writing) your told it's Shower Gel 'Cleans, no added promised'. On the back of the bottle this time all in all small black writing your given directions for use and safety advice, ingredients are listed and some information that Sainsbury's are against animal testing and fund into research for alternatives are mentioned, contact details for Sainsbury's are given, size is stated (300ml) and there is a bar-code on there. Yes this looks a really cheap bottle to be honest and very economy indeed and my best advice is buy it and stick it another bottle that's empty so no one knows your such a cheap skate!... after-all it's the product that's important lol. So how did that fair?

The Shower Gel....

Well as I have already mentioned it's green in colour and consistency wise it's like a gloopy gel really. It squirts out of the bottle really easily and quickly and has a slight aroma of apples to my nostrils though it really isn't heavily scented but fragrance wise, yes it's suitable for the whole family.

It lathers up really quickly into rich white bubbles though if you get some in the bottom of your shower tray or bath you have to wipe it out as it doesn't get washed away due to it's slight jelly like consistency (and you don't want to break your neck on that!).

It lathers up so well that you really don't need much of it and it actually feels quite moisturising and easy to use. Yes it does the job, and to be fair really well! I can shave my bits and bobs with this, it doesn't dry out or make my skin greasy, I'm not overly and in your face fragranced and the most important thing I am left feeling clean and fresh and smooth enough.

Are you as surprised as me? I really am shocked at this review myself! I thought at the very least it wouldn't give off any lather and at best would destroy my sensitive skin! However it really doesn't and this is such an economical product. Ok there is nothing luxurious about it and it really is just a rather plain shower gel but hey how much have you paid on something that promises you the sun, moon and stars and you've been left feeling gutted you've wasted your dosh? This is 10p for a large bottle. You don't need a lot of it and I still have half a bottle left and have had 20 washes out of it already! Economical? Course it is! It's easy to rinse off and leaves no residue either. It's just a good product! Lol. as well

The main thing is this offers no added extras but I can say this in it's favour. It cleans me well and leaves me felling fresh and with softer skin than when I went I stepped in the shower and I personally like the delicate fragrance. I don't know if I would go out of my way to purchase this but I can tell you what if I was broke and down on my luck I'd certainly have no issue buying this and saving loads a money in the long run. like I say you can always shove it in a fancy bottle or summat and no one would be any the wiser!

Great money saver and I am impressed!

Summary: A great money saver that does a great job!
