Advantages: very good ingredients; leaves feet moisturised, soft and silky

Disadvantages: none really; possibly only the fragrance

When I research skin care cosmetics, I tend to visit the US sites as well, since I found out that they provide more info, and it seems they are required by law to reveal all the ingredients of a product. Those of you who have read my other skin care reviews you'll know by now that I love to know the ingredients. Anyway, I did the same here, visiting both www.sallyhansen.co.uk and www.sallyhansen.com.

The product comes in a soft wide light-reflecting white tube with a wide purple lid that stays well put on a flat surface, as you can see from the photo above. It attracted my attention, looks good in the bathroom and has no more unnecessary packaging. You can find it online from £2.50 per 113g.

The promises:

The main promise is to soften and moisturise dry, rough and 'thirsty' feet. It helps prevent blisters and calluses with guaranteed results. You just have to apply "a generous amount and gently massage into feet".

*Advertised ingredients: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Vitamins A (Retinyl palmitate, retinol), C (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate) and E (Tocopheryl acetate).

*Non-advertised ingredients: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Ceramide 3, which is believed to reinforce the natural lipid barrier of dry and ageing skin, and improves long term moisturisation. It is a human-skin identical natural molecule, and it is active at low concentrations (http://www.healthspecialty.com/ceramide.html). Also: Urea (skin softener), rose water and Fragrance.

My reality:

I expected a thick rich cream, but this was rather light. I think this is a plus, because it gets easily spread and you don't really need a large amount. It is very easily absorbed, yet it leaves a protective nourishing film on the skin without being particularly sticky. On application, you feel a cooling comforting effect! It is full of good ingredients and it does deliver by leaving feet moisturised, soft and silky. I like it so much that I apply it on my calves as well. However, because I use it whenever I feel my feet and legs dry and not everyday, I cannot comment on whether it helps prevent blisters and calluses or not. It also has a distinctive fragrance, but it I did not find it unpleasant.

Summary: I love it!
