Make up the numbers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a while since I've used any Sanctuary products but when I was recently making up the numbers on a Boots 3 for 2 deal I decided to give this a go. I've always liked the products I've tried in the past - mainly because of the unique and distinctive fragrance - so I was confident I'd like this one.
The product I'd tried in the past that had been a firm favourite with me is the Sanctuary body butter which comes in a huge tub This product I am reviewing now is very similar - and I checked the scent was the same before making the purchase! - but is just over £1 more expensive at £10.20 for a 300ml tub (plus 40 Advantage Card points), and promises to improve the texture and tone of the skin. It contains almond oil, macadamia oil and cocoa butter.
Exotic and musky
~~~~~~~~~~~
It's not easy to describe a scent but I will give it a go. Sanctuary itself describes the fragrance as exotic and I would agree - it's a very intense fragrance and it has almost spicy floral overtones to it.
The cream itself is very thick and a pure white colour. Despite being very rich it sinks into the skin straight away, which I love, and it envelops you in the lovely fragrance. I really like that this sinks away into the skin so easily as I hate having to rub and rub at lotions before they absorb! It's really lovely to use and it feels really quite luxurious - an effect which is highlighted by the lovely smell which is quite intoxicating! After rubbing this from neck to toe, it leaves skin feeling really soft and it feels as if you've used a very effective moisturiser.
The other thing I love about this cream is that the scent lingers. I can get little whiffs of it all day long, which is great as it's always a shame when a beautifully scented cream like this fades quickly.

Smooth but no miracles!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing I can't vouch for is the effects on wrinkles and lines. It doesn't feel to me that it has a particularly tightening effect, although it does leave skin feeling incredibly smooth. But for me it doesn't feel too different from the original Sanctuary body lotion that I mentioned before - it certainly smells the same and the texture seems the same to me too. However, with prolonged, daily use it may well be that the cream would have a positive effect on the look and feel of your skin.
While this is quite pricey for a body lotion, I still really like this product. It feels rich and luxurious, and smells wonderful, and for me this justifies the expense - it feels special and is really pleasant to use.
However, I think for my next Sanctuary purchase I may save the odd £1 and stick to the original product!
Summary: A lovely body butter from Sanctuary
