Advantages: Not sticky and minimises white marks
Disadvantages: Only minimises doesn't completely prevent
Until a couple of years ago, I always opted for spray on deodarants/ anti-perspirants and avoided the roll-on variety. The whole idea seemed a bit icky to me and not terribly hygienic and I much preferred the idea of a spray. Unfortunately I did begin to suffer though from using the sprays, underneath my arms began to get quite dry and would sometimes get quite sore, so I begin to look for an alternative.
I tried a few of the roll on variety, basically just buying whatever was on offer at the time of me needing it. I quite liked some brands, found others had an overly sticky feeling, disliked the smell of some and worst of all found that some left those dreaded white chalky marks which can ruin a newly washed outfit.
I stumbled across the Sanex Dermo Invisible by accident, it was probably on offer as this is how most of my purchases of new products occur. It was only by having a good look at the product that I noticed that it was supposed to minimise white marks. I think the marketing team have missed a trick on that one as it didn't jump out at me at all. Anyway I was persuaded to give it ago as I hate those white marks, there's nothing worse when you're running late and you have to change your top because it's covered in white deodarant marks.
I first used the product and was first of all quite impressed that the roll-
on screwed into the lid so that the lid is the base and the roll-on is suspended upside down. I thought this was great as it stops the rol bit from drying out and it is always ready to be used.
The smell is quite pleasant, it doesn't have an overpowering scent which I dislike in a deodarant, instead is is quite soft, floral and subtle. When applying, it did feel quite slimey but it not have the sticky feeling which I hate. It dried on quite quicky and did seem to absorb into my skin without leaving a residue.
Throughout the day, I felt fresh and even on sticky hot summer days, this product leaves my feeling fresh and not icky sweaty. With regards to the white marks, this product is considerably better compared to all the other roll-on products I have used. It does as it claims, it minimises white marks but it doesn't completely prevent them. I find if I apply the roll-on and then immediately put a dark top on, I will suffer the dreaded marks but it is certainly much improved from what I have suffered in the past.
I picked the Sanex Dermo Invisible Roll On at £1.32 from Tescos
Summary: Quality roll on

- 04/08/09 I find these roll ons far more tasty than ice cream & they last a lot longer. Unlike other roll-ons Sanex doesn't leave a white mark on my tongue.
Nice review even if you didn't comment on the flavour (which remids me of ox) |
