I am a trainer girl through and through; you will never see me in anything other than trainers, trainers are my best friend (apart from my hubby!). However, one day a little while a go I was asked to be a bridesmaid and although I told the bride that my shoes would need to be quite a small heel, she felt I could manage and came back with something that made my jaw drop. I think they were around a three inch stiletto! I have awful trouble with spraining my ankles so to say I was a little worried about walking in these was an understatement! Although the shoes were my size, when I tried them my foot slipped to the front of the shoe crushing my toes because of ... Read the complete review

The cushions are supposed to cushion the heel (or even sole) of your shoe to make them comfier to wear, for longer. But they weren't the luxery I thought they would be. They made very little different to my comfort to the point where I don't believe they did anything. Instead I've come to use these for padding out my shoes instead. Quite expensive for insoles, but they're great as they can be used in just the right small areas of your shoes to make them just the perfect fit. The pads are about 10cm long and slightly narrower along the middle, lightly wider at each end, which I think helps them to stay in place. They are made from a sort of gel/silicon and are plastic coated. They are soft and squidgy and washable and restickable. The pads come in a pack which looks very ... Read the complete review

I am always a bit dubious about this sort of thing: I find that some of them work and some of them don't. However, I found them in the sale at Boots for about £2 (they're normally pretty expensive, around £5) and couldn't resist. As it happened, I bought some lovely new going-out shoes. They only had a little heel, and were slip-ons. I do have a bit of a nightmare finding shoes that A) fit and B) look good and these fitted the bill! I found, however, that they were ever so slightly too big and my feet kept coming out of them. The smaller size was too small, so I decided to use these heel shields instead. You remove the plastic backing and ... Read the complete review
