Advantages: It does what it says, Smells loverrrrrly
Disadvantages: Not good for hairy pits
Of course we all know that men and women are different. The biology teacher at school told us so. The book ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’ told us so. And now Proctor and Gamble are telling us so. So what do Proctor and Gamble know that most of us didn’t care to think about. Well, there are not just anatomical and mental differences….there are also sweaty ones!!! ‘Delightful!’ I hear you say…but its true! Us wonderful women have different hormones buzzing around our bodies to men, so we are therefore bound to excrete different things from our sweat glands (this keeps getting better eh?) Proctor and Gamble decided to look at female sweat and produce a deodorant just for women. Yes, just for us. And they did a very good job, although I pity the people who had to research ladies sweat for months on end. The final product is the anti-perspirant deodorant SECRET, often advertised with that catchy phrase ‘The power of a woman’. There are a couple of different deodorants in the Secret range that I am aware of, the Clear Dry deodorant and the Satin Dry Cream. Today I shall be reviewing the Clear Dry. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? It comes in a blue container with a clear lid, and its a stick deodorant, not a nasty choking spray one. Take a peak in the top and you might start to worry it is in fact pritstick…I can assure you its not! The details of the deodorant can be found on the front label, all the other gubbins on the back. WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE? Well, today I am wearing the Exotic Fresh fragrance. When I sniff it I don’t feel particularly exotic, but I do think ‘freshness’. It is an almost fruity smell and very pleasant. There are a few other fragrances too, I’ve tried Nature Fresh, which smells a little like a flower garden after its been raining. WHAT’S IN IT? Lots of things I’ve never heard of, but they do the job! It contain
s no alcohol, so won’t dry your skin out. Does anyone know what cyclopentasiloxane is??? If you are worried about the ingredients or anything else you can always call 0800 7317540 with questions! (that’s what it says anyhow…) HOW DO YOU USE IT? You don’t need much of this stuff. The directions say to apply a thin layer, just 2 strokes to each underarm. It glides on clear when used as directed. Sometimes I add a stroke for luck and it still goes on fine. Its quick and easy and goes on with minimum effort! Hoorah! As with all products, do not apply to irritated skin, and if a rash develops, you should stop using it. Its easier to apply to shaven pits by the way, so hamster smugglers might have some trouble…. It doesn’t crumble either as some stick deodorants do, handy when you want it under your arms and not on the floor. MY EXPERIENCE. I was fed up with the burning of spray deodorants, and roll ons made me feel like I had put soggy flannels under my arms. Hence I succumbed to the advert, and decided I wanted to feel ‘The power of a woman!’. I applied the stuff as directed. It felt nice, and dry! No residue, just a nice niff. I went about my daily routine. I cycled to work, and still I was all nice and dry. (At present my job requires me to walk about 5 miles a morning, and I am still not feeling too moist after that). If you’re doing more brisk exercise you become a bit damp in the pits….but then not much will stop that!!! Best of all though, not really any residue on my clothes. It was a bugger getting deodorant stains off my tops. The only times I sometimes have a few problems is when I get hot flushes around ‘that time’ in the month, but it still copes fairly well. THE COST Depends where you go. I’ve seen it priced anything from £2-£3. Not bad, considering it lasts for absolutely ages!!! I would recommend this to all the lovely ladies o
ut there. It works better than sprays and roll-ons. Who would have thought there was that much to say about deodorant?!!! Let me just say finally, that I prefer the Clear Dry stick to the Satin Dry Cream because it glides on better. I have tried both, and am now a Secret expert I’ll have you know. I hope you enjoyed my sweet smelling (not sweat smelling) opinion.
