Advantages: Gets to hard to reach places, good for sensitive teeth

Disadvantages: Pricey, tastes like shaving foam!

Being a fan of Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste, I thought I would give Sensodyne "Multi Action with iso-active technology" toothpaste a go since it has recently been put on the shelves of my local supermarket.

Rather than being in a tube like most other Sensodyne toothpastes, "Multi Action" comes in an aluminium can. To use you simply take off the lid and press the button on the top while pointing it at your toothbrush. It's a lot easier to use than the pump-type toothpastes (you know, those ones which you have to push up the base when you're getting through the toothpaste), but it can also be a bit messier! This isn't really a paste, it's a "foaming gel". I find the gel often goes everywhere bar the toothbrush (or runs off the brush) and usually dribbles down the can a bit too (which is somewhat annoying!).

So, one you've safely got the blue "foaming gel" on your toothbrush you do the usual procedure of brushing your teeth. This is where my problem with the gel comes in... To me it not only smells, but also tastes like shaving foam (or how I would imagine shaving foam to taste!). This, as you can imagine, puts me off using this toothpaste/gel. I'm guessing it possibly uses the same foaming agent as shaving foam, but I can't be sure. It doesn't foam up as much as shaving foam, but it does foam a bit... Supposedly, this is what helps it penetrate the hard to reach areas in the mouth.

As with Sensodyne's other toothpastes, it is "specially formulated" for people with sensitive teeth. While their Pronamel toothpaste has worked for me, I can't see this one working for me as I don't like the taste (which is supposed to be fresh mint), but I'm sure it would help others with sensitive teeth (if they don't mind the shaving foam taste!).

For around the £3.50 - £3.99 mark, this isn't a cheap toothpaste, so I'll be persevering with mine until it's finished... then I'll be going back to my lovely Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste.

Summary: Not a toothpsste for me.
