Advantages: Does what it says it is going to
Disadvantages: More mint please!
Dental care should be an important part of everyone's day and as important as it is to floss, use mouthwash and also brush, the quality of a toothpaste can go a long way to enhancing your daily routine.
Many toothpastes boast about what they can do for you...fight bad breath, reduce plaque, boost whiteness, but Sensodyne have introduced a toothpaste that improves the quality of the enamel on your teeth. Not many people would realise the importance of this breakthrough. Much of our diet today and the things we choose to drink (see - Diet coke etc!) can damage the enamel on our teeth. This in turn leads to the teeth becoming more sensitive to hot and cold and ultimately can lead to teeth needing to be capped or refilled.
I am...well....uneasy at the dentist to say the least and I view a good toothpaste as an important part of my daily routine.
The toothpaste is PH neutral and has a pleasant taste. It is not as minty as other varieties of toothpaste, yet leaves a pleasant enough taste. As this paste has been developed to boost my tooth enamel, I take great care when using it, ensuring that I use good small and as nono abrasive as possible movements in a circular motion on each tooth.
I did look before using this paste at the quality of my teeth...in fairness they are not bad and I have had little problems with hot and cold foods over the years. I did note that the enamel on my front teeth was a bit weaker than anywhere else though, so with this paste I paid particular attention to that area.
After six weeks of use, I noted that the 'damage' had not got any worse and it did appear to be better in some areas. I would urge caution with this judgement however as I am not a dentist by trade!
The toothpaste is expensive, at around £3.80 a tube, but it does last well. One 'trick' I have been doing is to add this toothpaste to my favourite leading brand all in one paste also. This I feel gives me the best deal.
I also managed to try a store brand version of this product, noting that it was substantially less than the Sensodyne version, but this in no way felt as good, in fact, it had some ingredients missing that Sensodyne had obviously added due to their importance.
I really liked this toothpaste and I view it as an important addition to my mouth hygiene routine, my teeth fell stronger which is what it sets out to do and it gives me a greater confidence when eating a wider vairiety of foods.
This toothpaste should however, not replace your regular visits to the dentist.
Summary: Add with another toothpaste to ensure it ticks all the boxes

- 13/09/09 Coke is such a bad drink for teeth! If it can clean a dirty coin just think what it is doing to your teeth and your insides. |
