Advantages: SOOTHES SENSITIVE GUMS, WELL KNOWN BRAND

Disadvantages: QUITE PRICEY FOR A LITTLE TUBE

As long as I can remember I've always had sensitive everythings. That includes teeth, skin and emotions.
Lately I have been having awful toothache and am still waiting for an appointment to take the offending tooth out. I normally use Boots, or Asda's Sensitive toothpaste, but because my teeth are also looking a bit yellow, I decided to buy something to combat it.
I was talking to someone at work and said it's a pity I can't get a sensitive toothpaste with a whitening agent, I was told that Sensodyne did one.
Later that day, I went into my local cheapo shop and found a 45ml tube of Sensodyne Gentle Whitening toothpaste on the shelf.
The price was £1.62. I'm not sure why they charge more for sensitve teeth, it's like charging more for diet foods isn't it?

Sensodyne is made by Glaxosmith Kline and comes in two flavours. The one I chose was Coolmint. To be perfectly honest, I'm not overkeen on the Sensodyne range, that's why I normally buy Boots or Asdas own, they taste more mintier than this. But this was the only one with the whitening agent, so here goes.

I applied some to my toothbrush, I always use a soft bristle one as my gums and teeth can't take a hard brush. The toothpaste isn't runny, but not too thick either. The taste I suppose is ok, I must have got used to it, as this time wasn't too bad. I've used it on various occasions only to throw most of it away before now. This time I am going to use the lot, afterall £1.62 is quite expensive for a measly little tube.It wasn't chalky either, which I have found with some whitening toothpastes. Apparently Sensodyne says it will strengthen teeth and prevent tooth decay because of it's fluoride content. Not sure if that's true, as my teeth are already ready to drop out, slight exaggeration there.

I find that if I change to a normal toothpaste, my teeth go back to being extra sensitive again, and this toothpaste do
es help a little. I can't say that it totally gets rid of the sensitive feeling altogether, I still struggle eating Cucumber and cold things without going ouch!!.
But it does help somewhat and without it, I think I would be in a mess. As for the whitening of my teeth, I haven't noticed any difference yet, but afterall I've only been using it a week, when I start looking like Donny Osmond, please let me know.

*Directions for Use*
It says to use 2-4 times daily, but who brushes their teeth so many times, I'm lucky if I brush them twice.
Use a gentle brush which is more effective for removing plaque.
I've been using Dental Floss quite a lot lately too, so along with this, I should have gleaming white teeth soon.

If symptoms persist, see your dentist, as you could have some sort of gum disease.I know I haven't and it's just a case of sensitive gums, using this product has eased the pain a little.
