Advantages: Lathers well and is kind and gentle on the skin

Disadvantages: With no fragrance I don't feel as clean as usual!

I suffer with really sensitive skin. I'm very prone to getting dry skin, my shins like to go greasy and lets not talk about spots! The other day though I got myself a hayfever rash right out of the blue. This really doesn't happen to me very often and I do have cream for it but boy oh boy were the spots huge on my neck and down my back and it made me feel really itchy and grimy.

I was scared to use my ordinary shower gels and soaps on it for fear of making it all worse but of course I wasn't ill and still living my life like going to the gym and that so needed (and wanted!) to be clean! That is why I bought myself a pack of these soaps because from what I've ever heard about this brand it's deemed to be simple, pure and kind and that's just what I felt I needed!

The Packaging:

You can buy these in doubles or in packs of four from what I am aware of and me, well I bought a packet of two of them to tide me over for a bit! The soap itself comes in a mainly white paper wrapper and all over it I'm told it has no perfume and no colour over and over again. That bar comes in an outer plastic wrapper again and in the same design as on the bar itself I'm told it contains no perfume or colour and I'm told it is Simple Pure Soap For Sensitive Skin and that there are 2 bars in my chosen pack. On the back of the packet I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, ingredients are listed, contact details for Accantia Health are given (the manufacturer of Simple products) and the recycle symbol and bar-code are shown. Nice enough packaging that tells me all I need to know about the soap.

Me Using It:

Well I unwrapped it and was met with a huge hard block of whitish soap with the word Simple engraved into both sides of it. It has a sort of translucent slimy look to it and as I have said it is a big, hefty bar of soap.

So I jump in the shower with mine, wet myself down and away I go. Being such a large soap and a sort of square shape, at first when it's newish and you are using it it is rather difficult to handle and if this lands on your foot your gonna know about it . However as it gets used up of course it gets smaller and therefore easier to handle thank goodness!

Now this as promised doesn't have a fragrance, it lathers up easily enough and feels soft and smooth when applied directly from the bar and onto your skin. It rinses off easily too leaving no residue behind it and skin is left feeling lightly hydrated and smooth enough and of course if you wish to this gives off enough lather that you can shave your bits and bobs with it too if desired.

Where this is great is that it really is none irritating on the skin and it certainly cleanses the skin very kindly. However though to me with no fragrance to it at all I don't personally feel as refreshed and clean as I would normally though I know I am type of thing!

Verdict:

A nice enough soap to use and I'm sure it cleans me well enough and it is economical as it lathers well etc. It has never irritated my skin either when using it or after the event and if you have a skin issue like I have then I do recommend this but for me it just doesn't make me think I'm that clean so me... well I'll only be using this when my skin requests it!

Expect to pay around £1.06 for 2 bars and about £2.94 for 4 bars in all good supermarkets and chemists etc (I purchased mine in Sainsbury's).

Summary: Huge block of soap that is rather economical!
