Advantages: Doesn't irritate
Disadvantages: Expensive
We have to use this product, because other shower gels bring my daughter out in a horrible itchy rash, even the ones that are supposed to be for sensitive skin.
Unfortunately it's darned expensive, in Asda currently it's £1.92 for 250ml, whereas Asda's own brand is only 62p.
The only other irritating thing about this product is the bottle itself (although it seems to be a trend with the more expensive shower gels). For a product designed to use in the shower, it has no shower hook, which might not seem much of a problem, but it's one more thing to have loitering on the bath edges, or on the window sill.
As for using the shower gel, well a you can see it's a clear liquid, but it's not runny like water, it's quite a thick gel. And you don't need huge amount of it either, so despite the high price, it does last quite a long time.
A small dollop, about the size of a 50 pence piece is more than enough to create a huge amount of bubbles, and the bubbles will last on the sponge, so that one dollop will do your entire body (obviously really slim people will need much less). It takes quite a while to clear the sponge of all the gel, and to stop it bubbling when squeezed.
Because it's simple, there isn't any scent to the product, but to be honest I've never missed it since we started using Simple.
Of course the best thing abut this product is that it doesn't irritate my daughter's skin, so it's no longer a battle to get her into the shower. I'm not sure what the other gels use that affects her so much (because shampoo and conditioner don't have the same effect), but whatever it is, thank goodness Simple decided to omit it.
