“ Brand: Skin Ceuticals / Type: Body Lotion / Subcategory: Polish „
Don't be fooled by the rather cheap looking packaging that comes with this product, the contents inside are high quality unfortunately the price is based on the product rather than the packaging as generally you will be spending over £20 on a 150ml bottle of this excellent body scrub.
The actual bottle is a creamy white colour with a black lid that also serves as the base for it to stand on when not in use, and there is a minimal amount of small lettering on the front. Quite simple but nothing special. Having the product stand on the lid is always helpful when it comes to getting the last of the dregs out of it.
I have described it as a scrub but Skin Ceuticals describe it as a body polish. It has pretty good exfoliating qualities and I find it particularly effective on the base of my feet and also my elbows, my feet do take a bit of a pounding so it is good to pamper them and ensure they stay as well cared for as possible and this polish is a part of that treatment regime.
The exfoliating qualities comes from something called polyethylene beads and these small beads are not overly harsh but are very effective at removing dead skin cells and leaving my skin feeling clean and refreshed. There is a nice smell to this scrub, it reminds me of the beach for some reason as it has a slight hint of sun cream to it. It has pretty good coveridge which is a good thing as it is not a cheap product but even given that I do feel that it is a bit over priced. If they increased the size of the bottle then it would be a bit better value.
The results though are excellent and while I do not use this product every day when I have it I try to use it a couple of times a week just to make it last. A good purchase but not a cheap one in my opinion.
This is a product i am happy to rave about. I was given a tube of the skin ceuticals body polish from my best friend who is a beautician. Last july me and my family were flying of for a weeks holiday in turkey. I was looking after my skin on the run up to it however no mater how much moisturiser i slapped on my skin still had dry flaky skin in patches i had never noticed it before, i tried using gritted body scrubs, exfoliating gloves and stones nothing helped clear it up and i did not want to go on holiday were the sun would dry it out even more, i felt like a snake shedding its skin ok perhaps a little dramatic.
Ok so i have never seen or heard of the skin ceuticals brand before and no idea where to buy it but as i said my friend works in a beauty salon and i am sure they sell this brand and product in there shop so if you wish to buy it i would check with your local salons. She told me they use this body polish the scrub down clients before getting spray tans etc.
It costs roughly £20 a tube. The tube contains 150mls.
Skin ceuticals body polish packaging looks very dull and boring with the tube being plain cream with the words skinceuticals written on it it black small writing and underneath body polish in a blue colour. If all their products come in packaging like this you would have to read the tube carefully because the words are so small.
There is no smell from the cream inside the tube as it is unperfumed a bit like the simple products. It is cream in colour with small white lumps mixed into the cream making it feel thick when squeezed onto my hand but with a lumpy texture to it.
Skin ceuticals body polish is a exfoliater and a moisturiser and best used for people who have dry flared skin. I actually have a little bit of eczema on my hands and this body polish even made my hands look smooth and normal before using this product my hands looked old , dry and wrinkly.
The main reason i had this product was for my dry patch skin on my legs, upper arms and a patch on my neck.
The bast way to use the Skin ceuticals body polish is to have a shower or bath, rub on the body polish , massage into skin gives best results and rinse it off again. When rubbing the body pollish in you cant feel the little lumps in the cream, these are actually tiny balls of wax and polyethylene balls, strange combination that seems to work.
After use i don't need to moistures just pat my skin dry and that's it. It really works a treat, my skin for one seems to glow and all traces of dry skin have gone and i feel smooth. I use the skin ceuticals body polish every three or four days to keep the problem at bag. I am nearly at the end of my second tube now both been freebies from my best friend so ill need to actually buy a new tube soon.
I really recommend the skin ceutical body polish it is way better than anything i have ever tried and has cured my eczema too.
My Auntie has been recommending Skin Ceuticals products to me for a while now but, because of the high price tag I've always been reluctant to try them. She recently got a load of free samples with a recent order and she passed them all on for me to try, there were nearly ten samples I think and I'm working my way through them. The product I'm reviewing today is their Body Polish which is usually sold in a 150ml tube for £22.13 at its cheapest online- very expensive! Ski n Ceuticals products are available at stockists across the country, however if you don't live in a big city they're few and far between. They do recommend that you go for a skin consultation before trying products, however you can sort of do this online as most people know their own skin well and products are clearly categorised by different skin types.
The packaging is very cheap looking and reminds me of something you get in rubbish gift set you get for Christmas and never use. The bottle stands upright on the lid to ensure that you can get the majority of the product from the bottle which is always handy although I do find it's easy to dispense too much of the product, which at that price is never a good thing. The tube is white with a black lid, the Skin Ceuticals logo and product name are displayed on the bottle in blue and black, it's very simple and wouldn't really look anything special on the bathroom shelf.
I have used the Body Polish a few times now and I tend to do so after a shower whilst I'm still standing in the shower but it's switched off. I then apply the Polish to my wet skin and rub it all over my body; I pay special attention to my elbows, knees and feet as directed by Skin Ceuticals. I then rinse the Body Polish off with the shower and then towel dry.
I've found the Body Polish to be really good in use, the exfoliation is just right, not too harsh but harsh enough, Skin Ceuticals use polyethylene beads and natural waxes, a new one on me but it seems to work. It smells very fresh and a little bit of coconut, although I'm not sure whether that's just my imagination as nothing on the packaging indicates this. I definitely feel that my skin is really well exfoliated and afterwards my skin feels so smooth and soft, and it feels a lot brighter. The Body Polish is perfect to use before using a body lotion, however Skin Ceuticals also recommend it for use before self tanning. I don't fake tan regularly but on the occasions which I do I appreciate the need to a really good exfoliation beforehand.
Skin Ceuticals Body Polish is undoubtedly a good product, however it is ridiculously over- priced. You don't need to use too much of the product but it's still expensive especially if you exfoliate once or twice a week it's going to run out pretty quickly. The Body Polish does leave my skin feeling amazing but I can't justify the price.
** Skin Ceuticals Body Polish **
I find it very important to take good care of my body as my skin can get very dry and itchy. A feeling I hate! Also I love having a smooth, clean and soft skin. Since we don't all just have the best skin in the world, we sometimes need a little bit of help. I buy the Skin Ceuticals Body Polish which cost around 20 pounds but i think it's worth it.
When you want to get rid of your dry and dull skin, you should use this product. It uses smooth polyethylene beads and natural waxes to exfoliate the skin cells. It t horoughly removes dead surface cells without damaging skin, nourishes and hydrates the body skin and calms and revitalizes the skin. It really gives it a good scrub.
The Skin Ceuticals Body Polish is for all skin types. You should use this product after you have washed yourself and before you apply any other products like moisturizers. After you have washed yourself you just apply to little bit on your hand or washcloth and you apply it on your body for around a minute. Skin Ceuticals advices to give special attention to the elbows, knees and feet. These areas have normally the most uneven and dry skin. After applying it you can rinse it easily off and you can dry yourself with a towel.
I love using this product! I use it once a week and normally during the weekend when I have a little bit more time for myself. I take a long hot shower and then I apply the Skin Ceuticals Body Polish. I make sure I got every bit of my body and massage my skin for about a 1 minute and then I rinse it off. It's easy to rinse it off and it feels a wonderful fresh feeling. My skin doesn't feel dry afterwards and the skin really feels smooth. Afterwards I love to use bodylotion for the total effect. It's a great product and it can last me for a few months since I only use it once a week and you don't need a lot.
If you're a fan of using fake tan, then as you will know good exfoliation prior to applying it is a must; this removes the dead skin cells which are lying on top of your skin, and reveals the newer, fresher skin underneath, so a good exfoliant or body polish as they are sometimes called, is key for this. As it happens, I'm not much of a fan of fake tan - I just don't have the time, but I still appreciate the effect of a good body polish in revealing younger looking fresher skin, so I can recommend the Skin Ceuticals Body Polish.
Firstly, I'd like to point out I didn't buy this myself because depending on where you buy it, it costs around £20 for a 150ml tube, which is my opinion is a lot to pay. I'd usually pay around £5 for a body polish or exfoliating cream from Boots, but seeing as this came as a gift including other Skin Ceuticals products (which I was told was ordered for me online), I was still thrilled to receive it.
Unlike scrubs I've used before which generally have their rought 'bits' made from peach kernals or other natural biproducts, the bits in the Skin Ceuticals Body Polish are made from a mix of wax beads and polyethylene (am I right in thinking that's a type of plastic, or is that something else?) Either way, the combination works very well.
I've used lots of scrubs in the past which have either been next to useless from having too few exfoliating bits in, or overly harsh where it's felt like I'm sloughing off deadskin with bits of broken glass, but this scrub is the best I've ever used. It's balance between being rough enough to exfoliate but gentle enough to not irritate skin is great.
To use, you can either apply it directly to your skin and massage it in with your hands, or put it onto a flannel and apply it that way. I prefer to use my hands as it saves my flannel getting full of bits. The body polish is quite thick in consistency, and squeezes out of the plain flip top packaging easily. You only need a little bit in my opinion, and I was surprised at how long the tube lasted - using it once a week it's lasted me nearly 5 months already.
After use and after rinsing off the residue and left over body polish, I find my skin feels wonderful. I don't know whether it's due to the algae and botanical extracts this product also contains, but my skin is softer, smoother, more moisturised and feels much fresher after using this product, so I can definitely recommend it, despite it's initially steep purchase price.
I love taking long showers to full exfoliate my body especially before applying moisturising and applying self-tan, as it's a must! Being already familiar with SkinCeuticals products and know of there great quality and results (so glad DooYoo added this category!!) I stuck to buying what I know. The SkinCeuticals 150ml body polish ranges from £15-25 & is the best body scrub I've yet to use. Testers are available on eBay for really low prices it's seriously worth checking out!
The body scrub is great for removing unwanted, dull & dead skin using both smooth polyethylene & natural wax beads. The two works together leaving skin emollient and exfoliated I've used many different body scrubs all of which can leave my skin over-exfoliated or sore afterwards through either the beads being sharp or too rough. The polyethylene and wax bead are smooth and gently remove the skin rather than damage and scrape. The skin isn't left feeling too dry after usage either and moisturising doesn't sting which is usually the case.
Application is really simple I apply the product onto a face cloth and massage into the parts of my body I see fit. I make sure to massage gently my elbows, knees and feet so that when I come to apply the moisturiser it can soak in properly & not leave me with dry skin aswell as darker tan areas. All that's left to do after massaging the product in for a good minute or two is to rinse. I use the scrub weekly as my skin still feels soft throughout & the body polish itself can last me months I love all the skin products I use and would highly recommend to anyone the SkinCeuticals range for their overall quality and results!
