Advantages: Bubbly, softening, pink!

Disadvantages: Quite expensive

Not that I am an early bird but I started my Christmas shopping the other day to grab the brilliant 3 for 2 offers that are around. (I spent most of my time in Boots as they have 3 for 2 offers on almost everything!) I must apologise to my friends and family as I ended up treating myself instead! I love Soap & Glory products, so when I saw them on offer for 3 for 2 I almost squealed in excitement; I pushed past the other people browsing the shelves and made my tent in front of the brightly lit Soap & Glory corner! One of the things I picked up was Calm One Calm All. I am in need of a new bubble bath and as I hadn't tried this before it was the perfect excuse to plonk one in my already full basket. So after my initial excitement I genuinely couldn't wait to try it and the next time I had a bath this was my product of choice... so here is what I was excited about!

** WHO ARE SOAP & GLORY? **

Soap & Glory was created by a very clever lady named Marcia Kilgore who is also the brain behind Bliss Spas and the new Fitflops range. Soap & Glory is now a huge bath and beauty range sold in boots, John Lewis and the similar large stores. It's products range from bubble bath and body lotion, to lip gloss and self-tan. Although the products are quite pricey compared to the rest of the market it definitely has made its mark in the beauty and body industry and has a strong, loyal customer base.

** WHAT IS CALM ONE CALM ALL? **

It advertises itself as being a Stress-battling, softening bubble bath. The main ingredients are lemon balm, mallow extracts and moisture-magnetising skin conditioners and the company states that the bubble bath smoothes you while it soothes you. A brilliant little advertising slogan... and apparently it has body lotion built in! I really admire the fact it does not promise the earth like some products and therefore I don't have high expectations, I just hope it is a nice little something to pop into my bath water after a stressful day.

** PACKAGING... THE MAIN SELLING POINT! **

At £5 a bottle this bubble bath is not cheap and it has to have some individuality in order to sell, especially when you can get some pretty good bubble baths for £1.99 in the same shop. The bottle itself is quite large and is an impressive 500ml. It has a really easy twist on and off cap which is great for slippery hands and the bottle is clear so you can see the gorgeous candyfloss pink liquid inside. The main selling point and the reason it caught my eye is the packaging...and to be honest all of the Soap & Glory products have dazzling packaging . All Soap & Glory products have wacky names and are usually puns which add a bit of fun to the product. It sounds vain but it is a nice feeling when people comment on the nice things in my bathroom! The retro packaging of Calm One Calm All is very individual and easily recognisable. There is a black and white picture of a lady in a bath full of bubble and a large pink label with off white writing. The style of all Soap & Glory products packaging is inspired by British Tabloid Headlines. The look and design as well as the naughty but truthful puns and comments they put on the packaging. In my opinion the packaging is definitely what sells this bubble bath. It looks fun, fashionable and although the bottle itself has a busy complicated design the bubble bath itself is as basic as it gets. I love having this on my bathroom shelf.
** SO... WHAT IS IT LIKE TO USE? **

I am not a complicated person so when I red the instruction on Calm One Calm All I felt de-stressed straight away. 'Dose a few capfuls into a brimming bathtub then get in, lay back and pretend you're the Soak King, or queen' (Loving the 'Soak King' comment already). Easy, no extra instructions or anything that makes me want to forget the bath altogether. So I ran the water and poured some in. I added 3 capfuls because I am always doubtful about bubbles. I like a fluffy bath so always add a bit more. The liquid itself is thick and gloopy (in a good way) which means it won't all pour out at once and is pretty easy to measure out. Once the bath was on its way I went and got my stuff together for my luxurious hour. When I walked back in I felt like I was in an advertisement or a soap factory. The bubbles were amazing. They were huge, white and fluffy. If I had put in anymore it would have been all bubbles and no water. I realised then those 3 capfuls were too much and next time 2 will most definitely be enough. This is great because at £5 a bottle you don't want to pour it down the plughole in two or three baths. I had to get in the bath and blow the bubbles away from my face so I could see what I was doing. It was lovely to sink into a warm bath full off bubbles. The water felt soft and the bubbles made you feel like you were floating. I think the bubbles are what really helps you to relax because they make you feel like you are in a little papered world of your own.
The smell of all Soap & Glory bath products in my opinion are the same which means they really stand out amongst my other bath products as the scent is very individual and fairly strong. It is a hard fragrance to describe. But it is a mixture of strawberry, vanilla, apple and orange. Plus a few more things thrown in. I have just had a good sniff and now feel a little funny. Do not try this at home! Although the smell is strong in the bottle, I found that not only did it make my bathroom smell pretty tasty but my skin had a lovely fresh smell for a good while after getting out of the bath. My skin definitely felt softer and more supple. Although I must admit it is nothing out of the ordinary as most bubble baths had some kind of skin softening in them these days. However, after I had dried off my skin didn't feel dry or tight which it usually does. Although I still put some body cream on afterwards, if you did want to just jump in to bed or jump into your going out clothes after your bath then the bubble bath leaves your skin soft enough to wash and go. So the statement it says about having body lotion built in, I don't think they were lying! It really is a simple easy to use bubble bath that smells scrumptious and has the added bonus of keeping your skin hydrated.

** EXTRA INFO **

There is a fun little comment on the side of the bottle which I will share with you so you can get a sense of the Soap & Glory humour that I have been talking about. 'Queen Elizabeth I wrote in 1598 that she bathed once a month, whether she needed it or not!'
I guess she wouldn't have been a fan of this then!

** CONCLUSION **

This bubble bath won't make you 10 years younger or give you super model skin, but it does smell great and the bubbles are amazing. In terms of the 'de-stressing' feature, well I think a hot bath tends to do that but this just makes it feel a little bit more special. Soap & Glory have a slogan which is 'You shouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg just to moisturise one (or the other)! The company may think they are cheap but I do think £5 is quite expensive to spend on a bubble bath. Nevertheless I can see the large bottle lasting me for about 9 bath times with a huge amount of bubbles in every bath, which is pretty good going. If you were to buy a cheaper one, you might get the same amount of bubbles out of half the bottle. So you do get your moneys worth if you can afford it. I will be buying this again as I think it has great character and is a lovely addition to my bathroom!

Thank you for reading.

Summary: A lovely bubble bath for a relaxing treat.
