We all knew it wouldn't last long, I'm back to those beauty product reviews. I'm not complaining though because I love writing them and I get to pamper myself! This time, it's Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All.
Warning - READ THE BOTTLE BEFORE YOU USE IT! I normally wouldn't say this, and I probably should, but I received this bubble bath in a large Soap & Glory gift set last month and only just opened it the other day (I know, shame on me!). I opened the large bottle of what looked liked body lotion, poked my finger in and started rubbing it onto my arm. It was only when it turned white and foamy that I realized my new 'body lotion' was bubble bath, oops! Time to wash it off and fill my bathroom sink with bubbles.
"Okay, we've all now established that you're an idiot, but what about the product?!" I hear you say.
Well, the bubble bath comes in a large, clear plastic bottle (much like the Soap & Glory Clean On Me body wash that I've previously reviewed). I has a cloudy plastic screw top. Typical to all Soap & Glory products, the bottle has a retro, 50s look to it (thanks design team, it's nice to see some pretty packaging!). Again, like Clean On Me, the main label is a pretty pink colour with the directions and ingredients on a pale yellow/creamy coloured label just next to the main label.
The bottle clearly that states that (again, like Clean On Me), the product should be used within 24 months and that it is a stress battling, softening bubble bath. It also says 'with lemon balm, mallow extracts and moisture-magnextising skin conditioners to smooth you while they sooth you'. Doesn't it sound lovely?
Upon opening the cap, I sniffed the bottle (not the plastic, but the product inside, just thought I'd clear that up), it smelled exactly like my favourite body wash, Soap & Glory Clean On Me (which I'm sure you're sick of hearing about now as I've mentioned it at 4 times). For those of you who haven't smelled Clean On Me (let's make that 5 times!), or who haven't read my review about it, it smells quite flowery and tropical, it's quite difficult to explain but it is an amazing smell and always makes me think of luxury when I smell it. The bubble bath itself is a very pale pink, thick, shiny cream/liquid. Think of pink custard, that's what it looks like (although a bit smoother).
I poured some under warm, running water (although the bottle tells you to throw in a few capfuls AFTER you've ran your bath) and soon enough, my bathroom smelled amazing, my bath tub was filled with fluffy white bubbles and I was keen to hop into a relaxing soak in the tub.
After an hour of laying in the bath with dimmed lights, candles, music, a facemask, a cocktail and a magazine (I go all out when it comes to relaxation), I was feeling more relaxed than ever. All of my aches and pains had disappeared, my skin was super soft and I felt genuinely happy. Maybe a good bubble bath is like a drug to me?
After drying myself off, my skin felt velvety smooth so I didn't even have to moisturise! Maybe that's because of the 'Deluxe Formula: Body Lotion Built In'.
There are 500mls in each bottle, but you can buy a travel sized bottle which has 75mls in it. The 500ml bottle costs £3.26 and the 75ml bottle costs £1.31, this translates to 66p per 100ml for the larger bottle and £1.75 per 100ml for the smaller size - hmm, I know which I'd rather buy. Remember, I didn't buy this myself, so these prices have been taken from the Boots website.
This is a definite favourite for me now and when my bottle is all used up, I'll definitely be buying more.
