Advantages: Smells nice, leaves skin smooth

Disadvantages: Sticks to the bath, nothing to make it stand out

Firstly, I would like to point out, that although the product is described as the mini version, and that is what is pictured, I am actually reviewing the full sized product. I am not going to bother trying to suggest a new product to Dooyoo, because the Soap & Glory Clean on Me, was also listed as the mini version, and when I requested a new product, they removed the word 'mini' and told me to write it in the category which was already there.

~About the product~

Flake Away is a body polish (or scrub) made by Soap & Glory. It contains sea salt, grapeseed and almond oil, as well as shea bitter, sugar, and peach seed powder and is designed to scrub away the layers of dull, dead skin, leaving you with the soft, smooth layers underneath.

~Packaging~

This comes in a pink tub, with a design that gives a nod towards 50's kitsch. The tub is perhaps a little plain compared to some of the other Soap and Glory packaging, but it is pleasant. It has a black and white picture of someone's legs on the top, and 'humorous' quotes and phrases.

~Using it~

When you unscrew the lid, you can really smell the product. It has an amazing fragrance - the peach really comes through, but it has a sugary sweetness to it as well. It's a very fresh scent and perfect for the summer.

The scrub is a sort of beige/brown colour, and you can see little grains in it if you look close. On scooping a handful out of the tub, you will notice that it has a strange texture. It's almost like putty - you can kinda mould it in your hands, and has a slightly greasy feel to it, which may be the shea butter.

You need to rub the product onto your skin in a circular motion so that the grains get a chance to slough away the dead skin. You can certainly feel the grains on your skin, but it doesn't feel too harsh or uncomfortable when you use it.

~Results~

Once you have rinsed the product from your skin, it does leave it very soft and smooth. I found that it got rid of all the dull dry skin, and my skin felt really smooth, but didn't leave my skin tight as some other scrubs I've used have. The lovely smell lingers on the skin, which is nice too.

One very annoying thing I have found about this, is that it is a nightmare to wash out of the bath. I find that I end up with a ring of white buttery stuff clinging to the sides of the bath and brown grains in the bottom of the bath and both are a real pain in the neck to wash off. I know that might sound lazy, and irrelevant, but it's so annoying, it actually puts me off using it - if you don't have a shower it is a nightmare to scrub it all off the bath - I was on 15 minutes one day trying to get rid of it all.

~Price~

This costs £5.99 for a 300ml tub from Boots.

~Conclusion~

I thought that this was good, and it does smell lovely, and it left my skin soft and smooth there was nothing to really set it apart from other brands in the same price range. Also, because of the way it sticks to the bath, it does make me not want to use it -especially if I'm in a rush, and know I cant spare all that time to clean it. All in all, it smells lovely, but I wouldn't say it was anything special.

I agree about this being so hard to get off the bath, it takes it really slippy underfoot too. xx

I've seen them in Boots with their funky packaging, a little pricey though. xx
