Advantages: Smells wonderful, easy to use, the warm sensation is pleasant, cost effective

Disadvantages: None it is wonderful

The change in weather, although for the better, means that if I want to wear sleeveless tops and cropped pants I need to ensure that my skin is not only soft and smooth but that my legs can not to confused to those of Frankie, my friend Sarah's iguana on the scaly side and that my arms, elbows, hands and any other body part on show are also buffed and preened.

With the summer months, the winter woollies which hide almost any imperfection you have to worry about are put back in the closet and out come your new strappy tops and with it for me the fear of flaking skin - yuck! So with my last body scrub almost empty I went to Boots to collect a prescription and was quickly drawn to the Soap & Glory products which were almost calling my name as I walked down the Aisle not to mention the sign above my head which read "You don't have to spend an arm and a leg to moisturise one" which made me chuckle.

The Soap & Glory range has a large selection of products ranging from shower gels and bath foams to lip glosses, hair products and creams for most parts of the body including scrubs, moisturising and exfoliating creams. One of the main reasons I like the products from this range is the lovely packaging which has changed over recent months I have noticed but it become known for it kitsch looking bottles which were a dusty pink colour and the pictured a black and white 1950s style image which drew the air when browsing the shelves. The other reason I like the brand, other than the fact they all smell wonderful is that they are sold at high street prices, so even during the hard times of a recession you can still afford to look and smell like a goddess for a reasonable price. Being sold at high street prices also means that these products are widely available in shops like Boots and Harvey Nichols mainly. The Soap & Glory range is also not tested on animals and more information can be found on the homepage.

This time I was tempted by Soap & Glory some like it hot body scrub which arrives in a 200ml tub. Differing from the original pink packaging this tube is white in colour with a bright pink lid and sketched right across the front of the tube in pink lettering is the word 'Hot' which definitely draws the eye and surrounding the word hot are slogans such as 'some like it' and 'warming' which all directly relate to what this scrub is all about and more importantly what it is claimed it will do. Reading more closely this scrub is sold as being a body softening thermal scrub. I have to admit that I did hesitate before I bought this product because of the last encounter I had with a a product similar to this one because I found the self heating too much for my skin and I really was not impressed, however, what worked in its favour is the last body scrub that I used from this range was so lovely, I decided to give it a try and duly handed over my £7 and collected my 28 points to be spent at a later date.

Soap & Glory Some like it hot is designed for those of us who suffer from bouts of dry skin upon the body area and with its carefully selected ingredients it is designed to give you the ultimate spa treatment and leave your body and skin feeling silky soft and smooth to the touch. You can either use it in the shower or in the bath, whichever you feel more comfortable with and it is suggested that you use it two or three times a week depending on the dryness of your skin and if you feel like using is more than that then you can.

Like many products in this range, it features a flip top lid. Once the lid is removed whether you are in the bath or the shower, once you have squeezed some of this predict onto your hand you will see the bright white coloured looking cream and like the Spa Sugar Crush scrub from this range, to touch it is a rather odd sensation. Why? firstly it contains white sand grains which are used for exfoliation along with what is described as as two-sugars, so upon your hand you can feel the grains within the creamy mixture and it smells absolutely amazing, for those people who are a fan of Soap & Glory products you will love the smell of this because it smells very similar to everything else within the range, a kind of candy floss smell but with a slightly stronger Vanilla smell to it.

With the ingredients firstly there is Macadamia oil, a popular ingredients within the Soap & Glory range, it is used because it's an emollient and easily absorbs itself in the skin and is therefore great for dry skin. Combine that with Calendula oil which is used to treat skin problems such as eczema and itchy rashes, it is also good for soothing and softening the skin. The final ingredients to mention are known as Therminerals and they are the self-heating components of this product.

When I used this product for the first time I wasn't too sure what to expect if I am being honest and having read the tube over and over again looking for some sort of explanation on how best to use it all you need to do is squeeze a smallish sized blob onto the palm of your hand and massage it onto your skin, your skin does need to be damp for this product to work because the Therminerals react the water, as you massage it onto your skin, you can definitely feel the sandy grains working on your skin to remove any flakiness and not only that but within literally a few seconds of use you can suddenly feel a soft warmness across your skin, not hot and too harsh like a previous product I have used, but a definite warmness and it was really pleasant on the skin. Naturally your should only use this product externally and not internally! The warm feeling lasts for a good few minutes as you continue to use this product and not once did I feel that it had become to hot on my skin that I had to douse myself under the cold water tap to cool down my skin.

Once I had finished showering and I dried myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my skin was not only left with a slight vanilla smell to it but also how soft it had become, especially on my shins and around the tops of my knees and elbows. I tend to get dry patches of skin on my shins and around my knees more than my arms. I would say the smell did linger for a short while after using but this product did recommend using a moisturiser after using and I did exactly that, opting to stick with the Soap & Glory theme and using The Righteous Butter which I am also a big fan of.

So after using it I was suitably impressed and after almost three weeks of using it twice a week, only in the shower and not the bath I might add, I still have over half the tube left and it still manages to warm the skin rather than make it feel like I am on fire. I have also found that my skin has remained silky smooth whilst I have continued to use this product.

This product is one that I would recommend this to anyone wanting to swap your old trusty creams for something new and exciting. It's something I would definitely buy again without a doubt and I think the price of £7 is definitely worth paying for the softness of the skin.
