Soap & Glory Glistening Dry oil Body Gloss
This is another S&G product that I would not have bought myself but came in one of their Christmas/pre Christmas big boxes that I have had for the last couple of years. I do quite like S&G products but am less excited by them than I used to be as I have found some to be very average and rather expensive compared to similar products around.
I love their quirky retro 1950s packaging and use of puns for the product names as I think that makes them very appealing as gifts to give and receive but I think they would be better to perfect the products they have rather than constantly try to create new ones that are not actually that new. This one's name is one again that is a play on words "Easy Glistening" which is quite clever.
It comes in a spray type aerosol container in the S&G signature pink colour. It sprays out a bit like a hair spray and as such is quite difficult to apply to yourself I find. I would like to 'glisten ' on my shoulders and back which is nigh on impossible to do yourself. I also find that wherever I try to spray this on my body it still goes beyond and lands on the bathroom floor which does NOT need glistening and that is very irritating. I am not sure if this is me being inept or a fault of the applicator.
I love the smell of this as it smells fresh and yet sweet and creamy, a sort of warm and comforting smell like a lot of their other products. I also love it when it actually does arrive on my skin as it gives a gentle gloss and this looks specially great with a bit of a tan I find.
Once you have achieved getting some on your skin I find I still ave to rub it to spread it around as otherwise you jst get patches of shiny skin which looks a bit odd. In fact I find the best ay is to cup my hand around the nozzle and catch the spray which I then rub onto the parts of my body I want to have a little sheen to. That way my bathroom floor stays unglistened and not slippery and none is wasted.
Although this does give a nice sheen as a 'dry oil' I can't say it is something I will rush around looking to buy again as it doesn't really moisturise my skin that much. I think I could get the same result from a good moisturiser and a quick rub with Lush's glitterbug which is far easier to apply directly where you want it. I also have moisturiser with a bit of a sheen in it which I prefer to this oil. You can tell it isn't one of the products that I love as I think this came in the S&G gift box from the year or so before and I still have well over half left.
It smells nice and gives a nice glisten but really is very messy to apply and doesn't really moisturise much at all. There are other products out there which give the same or better result than this one does and they don't spray everywhere and make a mess of my floor.
S&G do work hard on their retro look and quirky little sayings on their products and this one claims that you will have "Posher, softer skin now there's virtually no effort necessary! Lazy girls love easy glistening." Well lets hope the lazy girls are still living where they have someone there to wipe up after them as they will need it when using this.
Thanks S&G but this is one product that you can keep as far as I am concerned. It serves no useful purpose at all as I can get moisturised better from other products and if I want to glisten then I can find a product that will go where I want and not all over the room as well.
Thanks so much for reading and hope this might be of interest to some of you. This review may be posted on other sites under my same user name.
I'm so sad because I am coming to the end of this fabulous Soap and Glory product and I can't for the life of my find it anymore, Boots do not seem to stock it and I can't find it on the internet so I am using it sparingly at the moment to make it last longer. If anyone knows where I can find another bottle of this amazing dry oil body spray then please tell me because I love it.
I have been using Soap and Glory Easy Glistening for quite a few years now and I love the look I can achieve with it. Soap and Glory Easy Glistening is described as a, "sweet almond dry oil body gloss with ultra-subtle powder-glimmer for sexy, long-distance shimmer."
The product comes in an aerosol spray can and looks and works a bit like a hairspray. There is a spray nozzle at the top of the can and all you do is spray it onto the areas of your body that you want to glisten. It's easy to use although it does take a bit of perfecting before you get it right. If you spray this too close to your skin you get a little white patch of liquid that you have to rub in so I find it's best to spray a ways away from your skin so you just get a nice even coverage. Even then though I find I have to rub it in as this spray comes out quite liquidity when you first spray it on although it really does dry in an instant which is nice and is not sticky or watery or anything like that.
The dry oil gives my skin an incredible sheen and because it has glimmer and shimmer in it too my skin literally shines and looks really healthy and sexy. The glimmer is really subtle though, not too over the top and glittery, it does not look like I have spilt a bottle of glitter over me, it just looks nice and natural. I especially like using this product in the hot weather and it looks great when the sun catches it and my legs especially seem to shine. The look really does last for quite a long time and I always feel a bit more confident and sexy when I am wearing this.
The smell is absolutely amazing too. It's obviously got the almond oil smell to it and to me smells like a lot of the other Soap and Glory products, that wonderful strong unique fruity smell that they have made their signature scent. It is quite strong when you apply it and the smell does last for quite a while afterwards so you can't really wear another perfume when you wear this, this has to be your smell for the day.
As always, Soap and Glory have stuck with their kitsch, whimsical packaging as they say on the can, "posher, softer skin now and there's virtually no effort necessary! Lazy girls just love easy glistening."
So, if like me you still have a can of this dry oil body spray then you are one of the lucky ones and if you are looking for more like me as well then please let me know if you manage to find any as if they have discontinued this then this is one product Soap and Glory really need to bring back for the sake of our sexy glistening skin!
Easy Glistening is a dry oil product for the skin that promises to give you moisturised and softer skin in a flash. The deliciously perfumed mist claims to leave your skin with a sheen that shimmers and skin that glimmers with minimal effort.
How does it work?
The product is basically just a dry oil which moisturises the skin and leaves it with a sheen. It does much the same job as a liquid oil but it is obviously less messy and more convenient to use. It is packed full of glitter particles that coat your skin with a shimmering silver glow.
The fragrance is created using the same ingredients as many of Soap & Glory's signature product including the lovely Righteous Butter and the Scrub Of Your Life. It is made using Bergamot and Maderin, with both fruity, floral and leafy notes which are given depth with Amber, Woody and Musk Notes.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used on clean dry skin. After shaking the bottle, you push down on the dispenser to release a continuous spray of mist, much the same as using a deoderant. You spray the product on the skin, avoiding the face and then massage the product into the skin until it has been absorbed. As it is an oil, you need to make sure that it is fully absorbed before you dress or get into bed and avoid spraying it near fabric or furniture because it could stain.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a bottle that resembles a deoderant can with a pink lid. It is a white shiny bottle with some yellow detailing and some black and pink writing. The writing tells us that the product is for posher, softer skin and that lazy girls just love the product because it is so easy to use. On the back there are a few more details about the product and some words of caution. The product will cost you around £5 and for your money you will get around 150ml of the product. It is available from Boots and a few online websites.
The first thing I'll say about this product is that it has the same delicious fragrance as many of the products created by Soap & Glory. It is so sweet and delicious and smells intense enough to pass for a perfume. It is an aroma that leaves you smelling fresh and clean and one that everyone around you will be commenting about in a positive way. The fragrance of the product is very long lasting.
When you spray this product, you need to hold it about 30 centimetres away from your body. If you hold it too close the mist won't have the same beneficial effect and the glitter comes out in a way that is far too intense. When I sprayed it right up close to my skin, it coated the whole area in a thick silver covering which was not a good look.
You won't want to spray this onto your legs while you are wearing a skirt or dress, especially if it's black as the product will coat the material will a silver glitter. You also need to be careful if you are using this while standing on a wooded floor or bathroom tiles as it can make the ground seem like a ice rink. It can't be used on the hair or face and the glitter makes it unsuitable for men.
When sprayed at an appropriate distance, the shimmer is more delicate and subtle but will still be too much for some people. I tend to leave the product to use for an evening look as I don't think the intensity of the shimmer is appropriate for a day at work. It looks particularly beautiful in the sunshine but it is noticable even indoors.
The oil is quite moisturising for but for those will really dry skin, you may prefer to use a moisturiser before spraying on the product. It doesn't leave you feeling greasy or uncomfortable and leaves only a delicate sheen on the skin. It is absorbed almost as soon as it touches the skin becasue the mist is so fine and it keeps your skin feeling relatively soft all day.
All in all, this is a very fun product to use. I would say it was best used for a special occasion when you want shimmering skin and a delicious coat of fragrance. I don't think that this product is hydrating enough to replace your normal moisturiser and the glitter makes it impractical for daily use. This is a lovely product to make you feel and look special and softens your skin to a satisfactory level.
==Soap And Glory Easy Glistening==
I have been working my way through the Soap and glory range and have done pretty well so far in finding out a few beauty gems which I will continue to buy but unfortunately I have also bought a few duff items that I most certainly wouldn't buy again and certainly wouldn't recommend them.
The Easy Glistening Spray is a body gloss with has ultra subtle powder glimmer which is said to give a sexy, long distance shimmer. The fragrance is sweet almond and the spray is a dry oil. It states on the bottle that it will give you posher, softer skin right away and that there is virtually no effort necessary!
==Price and Availability==
The Soap and glory product line is widely available from most Boots stores and there is a wide range to buy online too. This particular product is often seen in some of the larger Boots stores and is not one I have seen in my local smaller store.
I haven't' really seen a product like this before so the price of £5.11 pence per bottle doesn't' seem overly expensive as it is a unique product that looks nice and the claims stated on the bottle sound like something really rather good. The Soap and Glory range always seem to be on some sort of special offer so its worth waiting until they come up on a 3 for 2 offer so that you get more products for your money.
==Look and Design==
The bottle of the Easy Glistening is really rather appealing and the classic Soap and Glory pink colours are used giving it an instantly recognisable look of the product brand. The fact that there is a lot of writing on the bottle doesn't' really seem to put people off as you would expect as it does feel slightly over loaded but strangely enough this kind of bombardment works for the Soap and Glory range pretty well.
The bottle has a pull off cap which does a good job at covering up the aerosol spray nozzle underneath. The bottle has 150 ml if the product inside which is a fair amount and I seem to have had this product for ages and I still have some left.
The spray is simple to use as it states on the front and all you need to do is spray it onto dry skin and it is said to five it instant shine, shimmer, softening and swing (whatever they mean by that). If there is any excess of product in one area of skin you then need to massage that in before putting your clothes on. I find that you must always shake the can really well before spraying otherwise there will be an excess of product in one area and the glistening affect does become rather more patchy.
You have to be able to spray the product quickly and smoothly over the skins surface or else you will get the build up in some areas more than others. A little of the spray does seem to do a good area which is probably why this can has lasted me so well.
The can does state that you shouldn't use the product on irritated or damaged skin and I can add to that that you shouldn't use it on shaven legs as this does sting really badly and irritate the skin too, this I learnt that hard and pretty painful way.
I have to say that the smell of this product is really very nice indeed. That almond smell that a lot of product use I tend to steer clear of as it reminds me of the putty that you use in old windows but with this spray the fragrance is sweet, light and very feminine. The nutty aroma is very appealing and does linger on the skin for a good amount of time after the spray has been used and soaked in.
The glittering particles of the spray come out in a silvery type of colour and are not too much that you notice them right away but once your skin gets caught in the light the glittery bits get picked up and give that shimmery type of affect.
The dry oil spray itself does work really well in giving the skin a nice burst of nourishment that makes the skin feel soft but doesn't leave it sticky or tacky like a cream would do. I found that the glistening aspect of the product was not the part of the product which I liked the best but more the fact that it was easy to give the skin a little attention without too much bother. The oil soaked in fast and meant that when in a rush the skin felt good and looked good but spending that time on the skin didn't slow me down at all.
I can't say however that for £5 this is a must have product. The fact that it can't go on after having shaved your legs is a bit of a let down but on the whole I liked the product even if it is not something that I would by regularly. I think even when I run out of this bottle I don't think I would be rushing out to get it again but I wouldn't turn my nose up if it was bought for me as a gift. The shimmer is not too much but just enough and the silky smooth feel that this product gives my skin is really nice.
I think its an okay product that does work well but is more novelty than anything else. I feel that a baby oil in the shower would probably give the same feel of the skin and a nice fragrance would give the scent that this leaves behind. The glistening is so minimal that having it there is not a major factor when purchasing this product.
On the whole I feel a score of 3 out of 5 stars is in order for this product. Its nice but not a must have.
I do hope that this has been of some help to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I was very pleased a few weeks ago when I visited boots and seen that they had an offer of a third off on many items including fcuk, ted baker, boots naturals and soap and glory. I have never tried soap and glory products before as I always assumed they were highly priced but I was looking for a nice shimmering body lotion or spray that would keep my skin looking bright and shimmering now it's time to bare the arms and legs for summer.
I really like the design of the soap and glory products as they are old fashioned yet fashionable at the same time. I opted for the easy glistening dry oil body gloss as it sounded like just what I was after. The body gloss comes in a white aerosol type can that has pale yellow and pink writing and border to it. The soap and glory label is clearly displayed near the bottom of the can. The lid is pale pink in colour and can easily be removed to reveal the spray top which is identical to a deodorant spray.
The can advises that this product should be shaken well before use and applied to dry skin to create instant shine, shimmer, and softness. This product comes out quite quick so it's best to hold the can quite far away from the body and mist it all over. Sometimes the product can come out a bit quick so it maybe required that you rub it in before putting on clothes and basically to even out the shimmer so you don't have nasty patches. This gloss is very easy to use as you literally spritz on to see instant shine to the skin with a gorgeous subtle silver shimmer.
I have been complimented a few times while wearing this product, firstly due to the delicious soft and girlie scent and secondly because my skin looks so much more radiant and healthy. I am not afraid to admit that I think I may be slightly addicted to this product as I never leave the house without a good spritz in all bare areas and I am so glad I tried it. I have gone on to buy more products from the soap and glory range and again they have not disappointed in the slightest.
I absolutely adore how this product can be applied to the skin in the morning and it leaves a beautiful glow for the rest of the day without being at all oily. I also love how the scent remains on me for the rest of the day. I couldn't be happier with this product and I would definitely recommend.
You can purchase this little wonder at boots for £5.11 for a 150ml can
Since I received a couple of soap and glory gift sets at Christmas you could say I have developed a bit of an addiction for the brand and so if I see things on special offer I find it difficult to resist buying it! On a recent shopping trip I noticed that some soap and glory products were selling with a third off their price and one of the products was the easy glistening sweet almond dry oil body gloss. I had seen this on the internet and thought it sounded pretty nice and so I snapped it up for around £3.50.
The product is basically a lazy girl's option for giving your skin a bit of a treat! It claims to give your dry skin instant shine, shimmer, softening and swing and so it sounded great to me! I don't mind moisturising my body but sometimes I do get a bit fed up with it so a quick and easy option would be a bonus!
The product comes in what looks much like a deodorant can in that it is tall and white with a pink lid which covers the spray. Of course the packaging has significant flashes of pink so to fit in with the rest of the soap and glory range.
Now a major feature of this product is that it contains a shimmer to it so you are left with tiny little flecks of silver shimmer on your skin. Personally I like this and think that it looks lovely when you are going out or something but I can appreciate some people would not feel the same so it is important to note this.
To use the product you should spray it on to your dry skin. It comes out much in the same way as a deodorant does but will be quite wet on your skin. You should rub in the excess to your skin and will notice that it rubs in well and is absorbed quite quickly. As I mentioned the spray does leave a shimmer on the skin and whilst it is noticeable if you are looking closely or in certain lights I think it is quite subtle and just gives your skin a nice looking glow.
I notice almost immediately after using this product that my skin feels soft to the touch but not overly greasy considering that it is an oil spray. The softness lasts all day too which is a great bonus.
Possibly my favourite thing about this product is the lingering scent of the original pink soap and glory range which I love so much! The scent isn't as strong as the girligo spray but it does last really well and I can certainly smell it for hours later on my skin.
I have to say I really like this body gloss as it gives me the option to give my skin a treat in the mornings where I don't always have time to moisturise my body in the usual way. It is a quick and easy solution but I also think it is really good quality and so I don't feel like I am cheating in any way at all really!
The 150ml bottle can be currently bought from boots for its usual selling price is £5.11. Soap and glory can often be found on one kind of offer or another and so it is worth looking out for them. I will certainly buy this product again.
Thank you for reading my review!
I'm an avid fan of the Soap & Glory range which is available in Boots stores, and after trying various other products of theirs, I decided to invest in the Easy Glistening dry oil body gloss. It was a spur of the moment purchase, and at £5.11 this is fairly steep for what it is, but you do get a considerable 150ml worth of product, and you do pay for a good quality brand. Since I've not been disappointed with any of their other products, I had high hopes for this body gloss.
It comes in the cute, vintage design that all S&G products come in, and this is enough in itself to pick up some of their products, as they look fabulous when on the side in your bedroom or bathroom as opposed to a boring old can of body gloss. The lid is easily removable and clips back on easily, and before application just make sure to shake up the can before spraying. The oil comes out quite quickly and firmly which is good, as it helps to speed up the application process.
To apply it, I personally hold the can a considerable distance away from my legs, as the first time I applied it I held it up close and I ended up looking ridiculously sparkly, and it wasn't a good look! Once I have sprayed it all over my legs or where you want it, I then use my hands to simply pat through and rub it in so that I have no areas missing, and this avoids me being patchy. I do however sometimes apply this oil to my chest if I am wearing a low cut dress or top because it makes you shimmer nicely in the light. It could also be able to the arms, legs and stomach if you're brave enough to have it out!
The only problem I find is that it is really shimmery, and this does mean that if you use your hands in the application process, the glitter then seems to transfer on to everything you touch, including your face and everyone around you! This is a problem but it is only a subtle glitter so it is not too bad, but just something to considering when buying.
One of my favourite things about this body gloss is that it just smells delicious. If you are aware of the S&G signature scent, you will know what I am talking about, and if not it is a beautiful, fresh, clean smell which is very girly. Not only do I see this as a body gloss, but a body spray as well as it leave me smelling luscious.
After application, the body oil makes your skin look fantastic. My skin colour isn't too pale, but I am not one of those people that tans fantastically either. I have had nightmares with false tan, therefore this body oil is just right for me. As opposed to changing the colour of your skin, it helps to accentuate it, and it would look perfect on any skin tone. It does last throughout the night, so it is perfect for a night out, just be sure to scrub it off in the morning if it's still showing!
Thanks for reading :)
Easy Glistening is a sweet almond dry oil body gloss. I purchased this spray because I am very pale skinned and occasionally I do not have time to self tan prior to going out at night. So I thought this would be perfect to spray on my legs to give them a light sheen. It smells very much the same as what a lot of Soap & Glory products do. There are a selection of their products which I would just call having the Soap & Glory fragrance attached to them. The spray can is white with a pink lid (very useful if carrying in a bag to prevent it spraying itself). It has black and pink writing making the spray extremely eye catching much like most of the Soap & Glory products. The spray can is 150ml which retails at £5.11 from Boots. However, it currently has a third off the price which tempted me to purchase it.
HOW TO USE...
Just simply give the can a shake and spray it onto skin. It does not state that it must be sprayed at a certain distance away. It supposedly then leaves an instant shimmer to the skin which also softens the skin. The spray-can also states that this product leaves 'a swing' to the legs. But I actually do not like that it says that. There is no way that Soap & Glory can state that this happens. Firstly who knows what they mean by 'a swing' and secondly it is just the strangest way to describe a dry oil spray.
I would advise when spraying the can that it is far away from clothing. I sprayed it onto my legs when I had a black dress on which was a big mistake. Then once sprayed onto the body massage in any excess and then get dressed.
I have to say that I was a little disappointed with this product. I bought this product to go out at night time and to be honest from a distance of just one person away from me it could not be seen with lights on. I did not want it to be glittery and extremely obvious but I would have liked just a little bit more. However, when I sprayed it onto my arms I found it more obvious with a light shimmer which did look very nice. The downside to sprays like this I find is that I always end up with parts of the shimmer on my face which I hate. You know the feeling when somebody moves and you can see for example, one piece of glitter on their face that shimmers whenever they turn their head, silly things like that do annoy me so it was not helpful that this product did this.
I have tried this product on in the day time and of course because of the light it was more obvious and it was what I wished that it looked like at night. In all fairness it is not Soap & Glory's fault that at night it is dark and a lot of things go unnoticed.
OVERALL - WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?
For somebody wanting a very very subtle shimmer then this product is perfect and the light fragrance does smell lovely when on and it lasts. Dry oils are never extremely moisturising but I suppose it was enough, it did not feel sticky which is certainly what I did not want for a night out and it absorbed quickly into the skin. However, somebody looking for a more obvious glistening to their arms and legs at night-time then this is perhaps not the right product. I do not think that I would buy this item again, I much prefer fake tan or slightly glossy tights (they have a larger effect).
Soap and Glory is a cosmetic company founded by Marcia in order to enable women to purchase good quality cosmetic products at a reasonable price. It has a retro theme with quirky interesting names for products. These products are available to buy in Boots, Harvey Nichols and asos.com.
This product is named EASY GLISTENING. It comes in a aerosol bottle of 150mls. The rrp is £5.00. It appears as a classic retro can with attractive labelling which makes you want to read more. It stresses that this is an easy to use product that requires little effort and this is emphasised as on the can it stats that Lazy girls just love Easy Glistening. It is a dry oil body gloss which produces a long distance skin shimmer.
---Using the product---
The can should be shaken before use. It is easily sprayed onto the skin. Soap and glory recommend using it on shoulders and shins for instant shine and shimmer. Any excess should be massaged into skin before dressing.
I LOVE this product!!
I recieved it as a gift from a friend and I will continue to purchase it in the future. It is great on a summers day and on a night out. It lives up to the slogans and is vitually effortless to use and produce an amazing shimmer effect on the skin. No wonder lazy girls just love it! It has a sweet almond smell which makes the skin smell gorgeous.
When applying i spray it onto my legs and shoulder area. I love the appearence of my skin when I have used it.
Some seem to be of the opinion that £5 is too expensive for this product although I am quite happy to pay this amount. It has good staying power and makes my skin look fantastic. The only disadvantage with this that I have found is that when I have used it I have to wash hands straight away and my hands are very very shimmery indeed although of course this is to be expected! I love soap and glory products anyway and this is one of my favourite products in the range.
My favourite thing about it is the sweet almondy smell which is just delicous!!
Thanks H xx
The sexiest way to moisturise ever is here!!! Yet again Soap and glory have out done themselves with a fantastic product. I love their range and can always be found in the soap and glory section of boots testing away. This was one product I hadnt tried before though, until I went on holiday to Egypt in novemeber.
Wow wow wow was it an experience the first time I sprayed it on. Not only do I LOVE the smell of it, as with all soap and glory products, but it looks gorgeous when you put it on. Your skin instantly looks glistening and moisturised. This was absolutely perfect for a holiday, you could jump out the shower sprtiz it on, give it a quick rub in and be instantly sparkling. The sparkle looks particularly amazing when you still have the glow from being on the beach all day. But its equally good for a night out partying or even just to make yourself feel abit more glam. The gorgeous scent means that you don't have to put perfume on either.
No muss no fuss!!! perfect for lazy girls like me that just dont have the time or patience to moisturise for hours!!! It really does leave your skin feeling soft and moisturised but more importantly your skin isnt left feeling sticky or greasy, it dries like a dream!
Easy glistening does exactly what it says on the tin. Go out and get it today girls!!!!
I am a huge fan of soap and glory products. I was initially taken in by the cool and funky packaging, and then having tried the products, was pleasantly surprised to find that they insides were as good as the outside. As an added bonus, I have recently found out they do not test on animals.
Recently in Boots I was stocking up on some products as a treat for myself when I came across the dry oil body gloss in a three for two offer and thought it would be nice to try on my dry sensitive skin to see if I could spruce it up a bit.
Like all soap and glory products it is fantastically packaged it is white and pink with old fashioned style writing and pictures on, in funky black and white with elements of bright colour. The product itself has a great smell, it is not too strong and over powering but subtle and different. It is slightly sweet and almondy and smells fresh once on the skin. The product itself is easy to apply. It feels quite thick, but thins out once on the skin and it easy to spread around. It feels quite cold, so is a bit of a shock when it hits the skin, but soon warms up when you rub it around.
Once on the product leaves your skin shiney and soft for some time. If you don't like oily products or want a less obvious effect then this may not be for you as it is not the subtlest of products, but really does have such a great effect on the skin. It is always worth putting on either a while before you put your clothes on or after so it doesn't mark your clean clothes.
If you are a fan of soap and glory products then add this to your collection as it wont disappoint.
Love love love love love this product - it's amazing how all things shimmery can hide a multitude of sins, but most importantly, like most of the S&G range, 'Easy Glistening' smells absolutely AMAZING.
In a 150ml aerosol can costing £5 in Boots this may seem pricey to some but it lasts for ages, far longer than a deodorant or hairspray of the same size. It comes in the usual attractive pink and white packaging that we associate with the S&G range, and promises 'posher, softer skin'... and it delivers. After a quick spray of this, skin feels soft, smooth and strokeable, with the only downside being that it's easy to spray a little too much and end up a tad greasy, although it soon sinks in.
The product settles on the skin rather like a mousse which you then need to rub in to distribute the shimmery particles and work the oil into the skin. The shimmer that it provides is just enough to give skin a smoother appearance, disguising uneven skintone as shimmer tends to do. Luckily, the glitter particles are tiny and thus very subtle. They do however have an annoying tendency to stick to your hands as you rub the product into your skin, meaning you really have to scrub to get your hands free of glitter afterwards.
Overall however, this is a great product. It has the gorgeous S&G scent, strong enough to be noticed but also subtle and by no means overpowering, and provides moisture for the skin in addition to the attractive shimmer. Futhermore, it's fairly hassle free as providing you are careful with the quantity, there's no need to wait before dressing as you have to with things like moisturisers and creams. It's easy to see why the packaging itself claims that 'lazy girls just love Easy Glistening' as it's so quick and easy to use, and adds a tiny bit of glamour to everyday life.
Soap & Glory Easy Glistening Dry Oil Body Gloss
Description: Brand: Soap & Glory / Type: Body Spray
I really love the Soap & Glory products, they have a really distinctive and delicious fragrance and also come in really funky packaging which is a pretty and retro pink colour.
A 150ml bottle of this dry oil body gloss costs £5 from Boots and you can also accumulate Advantage points with this purchase.
The dry oil body gloss is full of tiny sparkly particles which leave your skin looking glittery. It is worth being aware that these do get everywhere so this product is best for nights out when you want to be sparkly, rather than days in the office!
The aerosol container makes it really easy to apply this product, you simply have to spray and then massage it into skin. The dry oil is great as it is really easily absorbed and doesn't leave skin greasy or oily.
The fragrance is delicious too, it has that distinctive Soap & Glory scent which reminds me a little of peaches and is really fruity. It also lasts really well on skin so you can still smell it a few hours after applying.
There is something deliciously girly about the Soap & Glory range and this is one of the most feminine products of all in my opinion. It makes skin feel soft and hydrated and also leaves it sparking which looks fab. I like to save this product for special nights out and it always feels like a treat when I use it.
There are loads of different products in the Soap & Glory range so there is sure to be something for everyone (don't forget that you can gain Advantage points when purchasing too). There are also some fab gift sets available which make great treats for friends and loved ones so it really is worth looking in Boots to see what they have.
5 Dooyoo stars from me for this product, it really is that good!
Well my family know how to make me a happy girl over Christmas and that is with Soap & Glory products, I got a few sets of this range and I was surprised to find I hadn't tried any of the products in those sets yet! Shocking I know! So after Christmas dinner was done I rushed off to test a few of them out. This "Easy Glistening" product was the first one I decided to use, simply because the name attracted me and having had such good experiences with the rest of this range I couldn't wait to try it out!
This product fits in perfectly with the same unique, retro design as the rest of this range. It comes in a white and light pink can and the front tells us that this product is designed for lazy girls. Perfect for someone like me then!
I thought that this product would be a lot like baby oil but it is actually a lot more like a mousse which isn't a bad thing because its very easy to apply.
All you do is get a tiny amount of this product onto your skin wherever you want to wear it that day and begin to rub into your skin using the normal soft, circular motions.
It promises to be a subtle body gloss and offers you a long lasting sexy shimmer.
What Does It Deliver?:
I was happy when I first applied this because it did make my skin appear fresher and looked generally really good so I waited for it to sink in properly and put my clothes back on.
The sexy shimmer it promises annoyed the hell out of me. I'm not a big fan of body glitter because it gets everywhere and this one was absolutely no different. I found that the glittery mess was all over my hands after application and would not come off so in turn it got all over my face, hair and clothes. You cant really see the glitter that much unless the light catches you on the right angle but you certainly could not wear this in summer! You would look like a disco ball!
It does however make your skin feel amazing so its at least half good. After using this it felt like I had been moisturizing for weeks to get my skin that soft. So really I felt great but looked stupid. And no matter how great and soft my skin felt it just didnt rectify the problems caused by the pesky glitter!!
I thought this would be worth mentioning as this product does smell AMAZING!
And after a quick peek on the Boots website I found the main ingredients that contribute to the amazing smell are: Leafy Greens, Amber, Woody Notes, Bergamot, Mandarin & Floral & Fruity notes. I find that this smells very fruity more than anything else and I'm pretty sure I could smell vanilla even though that isn't listed as an ingredient. The smell does last all day long so its not just the glitter that has staying power!!
A 150ml of this product will set you back around £5 which isn't bad if you like it but I do suggest you test it out first so your not disappointed like I was! If you have an advantage card you can collect 20 points with this purchase.
I wont be buying this again and I doubt I will ever use the bottle I have again unless its for a fancy dress party or something! If on the other hand you like having a glittery, shimmery look for nights out or even days then I do recommend you get this because the glittery glow lasts forever, whether you want it to or not. I would say this product is more aimed towards younger people because I know older women wont want to be glittery and shiny all day long, I'm only 18 and I don't!!
I don't really recommend.

I simply love the retro pink and off white colour scheme Soap & Glory use, and the fact their items seem to be perfect for the lazy girl. With witty titles and marshmellow like girly smells Soap and Glory hit every one of my buttons.
This is a dry oil body spray, that has really small shimmery specks in it. The shimmer is really subtle so you don't have to worry about looking like a disco ball when out and about.
To apply, just spray the nozzle on the desired body part, and have a little rub. In a matter of seconds, soft, divine smelling and subtly shimmering skin that you never thought could be coaxed out of your body appears. The smell isn't too overpowering or too sweet, but has all the elements of fluffy girlyness that you need. You can still wear perfume over this and still not smell like a perfume factory. The areosol can applictor makes a doddle of those hard to reach areas and it soaks in like a dream.
This item is perfect for those summer days where you need your legs out but don't have time to moisturise everything!
Spray this leavy bergamont and mandarin with subtle hints of musky oak and amberall all over your body for a sexy, glimmering glow and fragrance /
