Soap & Glory Feel the Knead
Soap and Glory Feel the Knead:
I purchased this as a pre-diet way of starting to tone up and slim down my thighs. I read about the benefits of massaging your 'lumpy bits', (it improves fluid movement and drainage and thus improves the appearance of cellulite and it stimulates blood flow which will help rejuvenate your skin).
Looking around on Boots.com I saw the Soap and Glory Feel the Knead soap and thought seeing as I have to wash my thighs anyway this would be a good way of massaging them at the same time.
This soap comes in a very kitsch looking box with all the information you need and quite a lot you don't. It is, (the box), a lovely blue and turquoise affair with a see through window at the front so you can see the almost black, knobbly soap. From the box we can discern that this is a fairly big soap at 125g which goes some way towards making up for its' £5.00 price tag.
I actually think that the box with the card insert and the flap bit at the top is excessive and a bit of a waste but it can be recycled all apart from the plastic window. The ingredients aren't as bad as some of the Soap and Glory stuff but there are still parabens, (plasticizers that can dissolve skin), in this so make sure you rinse it off really well.
The soap is apparently a 'mesmerizing blend' of mint, thyme, chocolate, vanilla, musk and two kinds of seaweed! The resulting smell is not as sweet and girly as the other Soap and Glory stuff I have tried but instead has an almost medicinal smell which I love but I know a lot of people will find it off putting. It also has bamboo beads to exfoliate and there is even caffeine in there for good measure.
The soap is knobbly as I have already mentioned and that is what this soap massaging. I can imagine the knobbles will be worn down before the soap is used up but I will still be able to use the rest as a normal soap.
I can't accurately comment on its' effectiveness at reducing cellulite: yes my thighs look better and are a few inches slimmer but I am on a diet, exercising loads, taking supplements and using a mountain of products designed to make skin more elastic and reduce my wobbly bits! It is effective as a massage though and has helped my bad back and my bad neck since I have had it.
I think £5.00 for soap is a lot but in this case I think it is actually worth it as you are getting a versatile product that smells great and does its' job well. I would definitely recommend this but will mark it down a bit for the parabens and packaging.
