Advantages: smells nice, leaves skin soft
Disadvantages: nozzle a bit poor
Now there are a few Boots stores in the city where I live, but due to a variety of things like having young children who don't like being dragged round shops (unless there are sweets or toys involved), and also not a lot of spare pennies for 'luxuries', I don't tend to go much these days.
However having been away recently, I was delighted to find a little Boots store situated about 10 minutes walk away from where we staying..I felt some shopping coming on!
Now since joining Dooyoo last October, I have found myself trying out products recommended by your good selves that I may not of looked twice at before (I have tried several Lush products for example, and I'm a convert!). I had read about Boots new range of toiletries called the fabulously titled Soap and Glory and decided I had to try something.
Now I wasn't been a skinflint, but the thing that first caught my eye with this spray Flirtigo (again, great title) was the price. It was on offer at £3.93, where as it normally sells for over £5 so I bought it without even testing it out first (very rare I do that!). The box promised it's scent was a blend of bergamot, peach, strawberry, jasmine, mandarin and musk..sounds good, but is it?
The product, and how to use~
Flirtigo is marketed as a moisturising body mist, which for me is ideal as my skin tends to be on the dry side. I tried this the first time immediately after showering and towel drying my skin first. It's a pump spray which I must admit doesn't come out as well as it should. I tried several times and sometimes got the tiniest drop coming out of the nozzle. I tried rinsing it out under hot water but alas it wasn't bunged up, it seems to just be the design of the spray having spoken to a friend with with the same item had the same complaint.
It's not rocket science to use- it's a moisturising spray so you just apply all over your body and it envelopes you in a fine mist.
The packaging~
I was impressed with the packaging and the whole range catches your eye on the shelf due to it's funky retro, 50's packaging. The bottle is a nicely sized 250ml, and is a white opaque colour, and black lettering on a pink background. The bottle shape is larger at the bottom and slims out towards the top. Even though the bottle is plastic it has a classy look to it.
Is it any good?~
Well apart from the poor nozzle that is the only poor thing I can say about this spray. There was no obvious scent as soon as I took the lid off but as soon as you spray it a few times on yourself there is a wonderfully fruity aroma wafting around. The more prominent note for me was definitely the mandarin- I can't say any other scents were fighting through to dominate but that's not bad thing smelling of mandarins! I'm a big fan of Avon's Skin So Soft moisturising body oils and I suppose I compared the level of moisture of these two which I shouldn't have done, as this is not an oil doesn't claim to be one. It did however leave my skin feeling slightly velvety and fragranced which lasted for several hours.
Would I recommend this? Well I sound not too keen on this in certain parts of my review and in actual fact I was very pleased with it. It leaves skin soft, looks great ,is a good price and most importantly smells wonderful.
(One star deducted for nozzle though!!)
Summary: A good spray

- 11/08/09 Know what you mean about kids and shopping. We went into town yesterday and ended up leaving half of what we needed to get because both the boys were winging and grumpy. Hubby and I were so annoyed. Sometimes the simplist of pleasure turn into a nightmare. Perhaps we will try again when they are with the grandparents:) |
