Soap and Glory is a beauty company founded by the owner of Bliss (another beauty company). They offer a huge range of cosmetic, skin care, bath and body treats and also perfume. They do not test on animals and offer quirky titled products in stylish packaging.

*~Pulp Friction~*

Soap and Glory currently have 8body scrubs on the market. Pulp Friction is the newest scrub to be released and has been added to the collection alongside the popular Flake Away and The Breakfast Scrub.

This body scrub is a 'foamy fruity body scrub' and is designed to scrub and exfoliate rough areas of skin on the body. The main ingredients are peppermint oil, pumice, fig powder, orange waterjuice, lemonade tree liquid and various 'vitaminballs'.

Whilst many of the S&G range has the 'Original Pink' fragrance, Pulp Friction has a new fragrance known as 'Frutigo'. Expect a blend of jungle pomelo essence, frozen yuzu, green fig and orange oil. There is a complimenting body butter and shower gel in this fragrance should you wish to layer the overall scent.

*~Design~*

Some of the S&G scrubs are presented in round tubs though I prefer a tube to use in the shower. Pulp Friction is presented in a tall, bright pink tube with the flip cap at the base. The packaging is littered with essential product information and witty remarks which makes it a little different from the norm. There is a huge ingredients list present for anyone who suffers from allergies to check.

Once the tube is empty, it can be recycled. It is worth noting that this scrub has a 24 month shelf life.

*~Price and Availability~*

Pulp Friction is stocked in larger Boots stores, www.boots.com and can also be purchased direct from www.soapandglory.com. It is priced at £8.00 which gives you 250ml of scrub. It may be worth waiting for the regular '3 for 2' or '1/3 off' offers that Boots run.

*~My Thoughts~*

I am a massive fan of Soap and Glory products and have tried nearly all off them. I have a soft spot for Flake Away and The Breakfast Scrub as they perform well and smell absolutely lush! I was keen to try the newest scrub so was pleased that it was included as part of the huge Soap and Glory gift set they release at Christmas. My son and partner bought me this set as part of my presents!

I use a body scrub a few times a week. I feel that most scrubs are too harsh for daily use. An exfoliating scrub is perfect for buffing the skin before applying self tan but I use it to simply relieve my skin of rough areas before applying a layer of body butter. S&G have got it spot on with their scrubs as they are effective, last well and in most cases, smell good too which makes the scrubbing experience less daunting!

*~Foamy Friction!~*

Many of the scrubs on the market (including the other S&G scrubs) have a wet, paste like texture. Pulp Friction is different. Once my skin is damp, I squeeze a small blob of this scrub onto my hand. It flows well from the tube and is an off white colour. The scrub has a creamy consistency as is quite thick and cool when applied. As I spread the blob across my skin, it feels like I am applying a thick shower cream.

The scrub foams up gently on my skin and the little pumice particles sink through the foam and settle on my skin. The foam is soft and bubbly though I can still feel the pumice particles as I rub them around my skin. My skin is very sensitive but I found this scrub to be fairly gentle. The pumice particles 'tickled' my skin and didn't feel abrasive or scratchy like some scrubs do. I mainly use body scrubs on my arms and legs and concentrate on the knee and elbow areas the most.

The foam rinses effortlessly from my skin and any left over pumice particles are washed away without hassle. I feel that the foam really does help protect the skin whilst scrubbing - almost like a shaving foam protects the skin from a razor. My skin didn't feel as sore or red as it has done with other scrubs and this was definitely a bonus for me and my sensitive skin. My skin is left refreshed and gently cleansed too.

The main appeal of this scrub, in my opinion, is the scent. I am a big fan of the signature S&G scent but it is always refreshing to sample something a bit different. The scent of Pulp Friction is very natural and highly addictive - I often find myself opening the tube for a sniff when I am not even going to be using it! The initial scent is a creamy, fruity scent with citrussy undertones. Once applied to my damp skin, it transforms to an exotic, Summery scent. I can help but notice a creamy coconut aroma despite coconut not being listed as a scent ingredient.

*~Friction or Fail?~*

All in all, I have been impressed by the results that Pulp Friction offers my skin. Not only is it gentle, it is very effective. I noticed a significant improvement in the appearance of my skin and it felt completely smooth and silky to the touch. Dry areas are buffed away and my skin is left looking healthy and feeling revived. I still like to apply some body butter after scrubbing up but it really isn't neccesary except for to lock in moisture. The gorgeous exotic aroma lingers for an hour or so but can be enhanced with the matching body butter. I hope they release a Fruitigo body mist!

*~Conclusion~*

I only ever require 2-3 small blobs of this body scrub to cover my body so my tube is lasting well given that I use it up to 3 times a week. £8.00 is definitely a fab price for this as it works really well. I would buy it for the smell alone and find it perfect for Summer time use.

When comparing Pulp Friction to the other scrubs from Soap and Glory, I would say I like this one for the packaging, smell and how gentle yet effective it is. I will buy it again for using during warmer months as I prefer the deep scent of the other two leading scrubs I mentioned for cold weather use and coping with heavy dryness from the cold weather.

Overall 5 stars!

Thanks for reading :)

Summary: I love it - summery scrubbing saviour!
