I am a massive fan of Soap & Glory and I received a few of their products for my birthday that I didn't already own... Result! One of these products was Slimwear which was probably because I am always moaning about my cellulite.

What does the product do?
Cellulite is caused by fatty deposits just under the skin which cause an unsightly dimpled effect and it most commonly found in the thighs. This product has been created in order to firm the skin and improve its tone by using a special complex to reduce the appearance my arch enemy cellulite.

How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to skin that has just been cleansed. After dispensing the product into your hand, you need to massage it into the ski, starting at the knees and working your way up to your thigh. Doing this using a circular motion will help to break up the fatty deposits. It can be used morning and night, and should be used daily to achieve faster results.

Packaging and Price
The packaged follows the usual theme of using a gorgeous pink plastic tube with a flip top lid with retro pictures. This one features a black and white photo of a girl in a bikini who's probably never even heard of the cellulite in her whole life. The product can stand on its lid so you don't have to worry about it looking untidy when you are storing it. There is some extra information about the product on the labels and some writing to encourage you to eat well and exercise in order to see the results even faster.

The product will cost you around £10 and for that money you will get 200ml. Soap & Glory products are frequently available on a 3 for 2 off in Boots so you could get a better deal there. The product is also available from a few online websites including Soap & Glory's very own.

Aroma and Appearance
The product has quite a shocking colour that I wasn't expecting to see when I first dispensed it from the bottle because it is a bright minty green colour. It has a consistency of a gel which and it has a light texture which is almost slimy. Not only does it have a minty colour but it also has a minty aroma too. It is very refreshing and most certainly awakening so it does help to get you going in the mornings.

Application
Because of the products consistency, it makes it very easy to massage into your legs because your hands glide over the product. It encourages you to massage the product into the skin because it doesn't really absorb on its own. It may be this massaging action alone that reduces the appearance of cellulite. As you apply the gel to the legs, you get a cooling and slightly tingly sensation. It doesn't itch or feel uncomfortable on my skin. You can dress fairly quickly after application so there won't be too much waiting around.

Performance
This gel does make your skin feel really soft and smooth so it must have some hydrating effects too. I think it does make your skin tighter and appear more toned. After my two weeks of using this gel, the cellulite on my legs looks slightly reduced but this may be because I am now massaging my legs twice daily and I have also heeded Soap & Glory's advice to exercise and eat better. Nevertheless the less, my legs look better since using the product.

This product is by no means a long term cure of the pesky cellulite. I went two and a bit days without using the gel and I saw the results started to go backwards. I guess that means that there is no quick fix to reducing cellulite and that you have to use this daily if you want it to stay reduced.

All in all, this gel has improved the appearance of my legs. The skin is more toned and the cellulite is less prominent. I think that this is also due to the massaging, exercising and eating better to but because this product is encouraging me to do these things then I think it works. It's not a miracle cure but it most certainly is a very welcome helping hand.
