Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter
Advantages: smells great, lovely treat for my skin, makes me feel like a million bucks!
Disadvantages: Very expensive
Christmas time is my favourite, not only can I eat loads of food without guilt but it only means one thing; Soap and Glory gift sets! Without a doubt I receive a gorgeous pamper kit that soothes my thirsty skin that makes me feel like a goddess, but it's a shame I can never afford to buy Soap and Glory sets for myself all year round as regular products because I find them on the pricey side. My boyfriend knows I'm a massive fan of body butters as I can suffer from dry skin. Working on the wards means that the temperature in my work place is slightly higher than average and the duty room is absolutely stifling so my skin does take a beating! After a shower I apply body butter almost as soon as I come out to achieve maximum results as my skin is still warm and allows the product to sink in better! I've had great experiences with Soap and Glory body butters before so I was excited to give The Righteous Butter a try!
£10.50 for 300ml from Boots.
The packaging is very classic Soap and Glory, it's got the hot pink colouring and the classic and chic vintage style font. Everything about this product just looks expensive; the packaging is sturdy and complete with an easy to use screw top to allow access to the product. As I've stated before in previous reviews, the idea of a dip pot unnerves me because of the transference of bacteria with the amount of times you have to stick your fingers into the product so I always ensure that my hands are clean before use and I recommend this to other users too! The product itself looks very rich and creamy and the smell is absolutely gorgeous. The main thing I love about Soap and Glory products is that most of them have their own unique and subtle scent that isn't too overpowering but stays with you all day. I've used products in the morning and could still smell it when I'm getting ready for bed! Unlike their other body butters (Butter Me Up, for example) The Righteous Butter doesn't have the consistency of a body butter, it feels more like a very rich and thick body cream. Having said that the product smooths onto my skin very easily and sinks in quickly so I can feel the effects almost immediately and can get dressed right away!
My skin feels absolutely gorgeous almost instantly after using this product, what I love about it is that it's not one of those products that you have to use for a certain amount of time before you really see or feel the benefits. My skin feels moisturised and really soothed especially during the winter months where my skin suffers due to the harsh weather and central heating. I don't have particularly sensitive skin but I sometimes react to cheaper and highly perfumes products, something I don't worry about when I'm using this product. The scent is very fresh and I can still smell it on my skin a day after application which was a nice surprise and even my boyfriend noticed how smooth and supple my skin is after using it!
I would definitely recommend this product as a lovely treat for your skin. I really love Soap and Glory products but I can't afford them all the time and unfortunately have to wait until birthdays and christmases to recieve them as gifts or have a little bit of money to spare! Although the product is absolutely fantastic, it is very pricey for a 300ml tub and the price might put a lot of people off (myself included). It's a brilliant pampering product but not one of my everyday essentials due to the price.
