Advantages: smells and feels great

Disadvantages: expensive

Since discovering the Soap and Glory range, I have been obsessed with the smell and wanting to try all the different products available in the range. I have way too many body butters without needing to buy any more, but that didn't stop me buying a pot of The Righteous butter, just because I had heard good things about it.

The body butter is packaged in a retro pink tub with all the pretty Soap and Glory images on it. The lid is a screw lid and actually is surprisingly easy to open and close when using the product. I hate it when my hands become greasy after using a moisturiser and I can't put the lid back on. Happily this isn't the case with this body butter.

Upon opening the pot, you are met with a stark white thick consistency that looks nothing like butter but smells divine. I can only describe it for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of having your nose in a Soap and Glory product, that it's a sweet, girly, feminine smell. You'll either love it or hate it and most people love it.
The body butter is best applied after a bath or shower as your skin will be more receptive to absorb after going through your routine of washing, scrubbing, exfoliating etc.

To apply you need to scoop some up in your hands and massage into your skin. This really is a luxury for me using this body butter, as the consistency is fairly thick but it doesn't stop you scooping up a decent amount at a time. Massaging into my skin I find that almost instantly the butter has vanished. I like this because I'm not left with a greasy film on my skin. It's almost as though I haven't done anything at all but am left with super smelling skin.
The downside to this disappearing quickly is that you can and probably will use quite a lot of this product without realising it.

Once applied I never feel the need to wash my hands like I do with some other body butters. I can't stand the greasy, wierd feeling I get from having product on my hands. With this one I can just massage my hands together and the excess acts like a hand cream as well.

The after effects of this body butter are better I find if I have used the body scrub before applying the butter. With exfoliation first, I find my skin feels a lot smoother for longer after using the body butter, as well as the lovely smell I get that lasts for ages.
Without using a scrub first I still get the glorious smell for hours afterwards, but my skin doesn't stay soft for as long. This is a shame as by using both products I almost feel as though a few years have been taken off me for a few hours and that's a feeling any woman will pay for I'm sure.
I have since learned that the smoothness is down to the shea butter hidden in the ingredients list and the fact that it sinks into your skin so easily is down to the aloe vera in the product which is designed to attract moisture.

You can buy this pot in either a mini 50ml for £2.25 or a large 300ml for £9.79. It's obviously more cost effective to buy the large tub if you like it as much as I do, but it's a good idea to buy a smaller one to start with as a tester.
I highly recommend this product both for the application, smell and results. It's just a shame the price isn't a bit better.

Summary: a great body butter
